Artist's Brushes
Maybe a little eclectic for an artist with a single style, but perfect for one who's still searching for himself. Or for any hobbyist. There are no (2) brushes exactly alike in this set of (15). They all have natural bristles, color-coded wooden handles and metal ferrules, but they range from fairly fine to 1/2" wide, and 7" to 10" long. There are at least (3) different kinds of bristles, and they are round, blunt and pointed. A nice variety, and a very nice quality for this price.

Picasso's Pal
This clever little artist's brush holder/cleaner will keep those oil or watercolor brushes standing up (or down) straight with their little heads under water or paint thinner, clean and un-bent until you need them. A 4" dia x 2" deep aluminum cup is topped by a 6" tall U-shaped handle with a brush-holding spring across the top. Inside the cup is a mesh screen (with its own handle) for to clean the paint off and let it settle to the bottom, away from the bristles. The handle is removable for storage or travel.

Luminous Paint
Nontoxic, water–reducible acrylic– or latex–based paint sticks to most surfaces and glows in the dark after only a brief exposure to bright ambient light. We have 1/2 oz bottles of acrylic–based yellow/green, 1 oz bottles of acrylic–based in the hard–to–find icy–blue color. The 1 oz and 2 oz colors will glow for up to 20 hours. Actually, to dye with. Top quality highly concentrated fabric dyes from Putnam Dye Co. (Since 1876!!) The fadeless dyes come in individual packets with enough for about 1 pound of dry material. And they work on a very wide range of natural and synthetic fabrics. We have a rainbow of colors from which we will pick (3) different ones for your order. Use them in the sink, washer, or stove top. Fadeless, they come with instructions.

That's what it says about these brushes on the package, and it's all true, assuming the E is silent. A set of (5) nylon artist's brushes, #s 1, 3, 5, 9 & 11, on wooden handles 11" to 13" long, all packed on top of an extremely thin 16" x 8" wooden palette. The price is nice. So are the brushes.

Acid Brush
Did 'ja ever wonder why these little brushes are called "Acid brushes"? Why don't they call them "Steel handled brushes." And why are the handles 1/4" dia rolled metal?? And why are they No. 1?? Why not 6", which is what they are, including 3/4" of bristles. Our man in France says the brushes are used to apply an acidic liquid flux to articles that are to be soldered together. So now we know.

Blu, Blue, Blau
Colore a tempera, blu di cobalto imit. Plakat tempera, kobaltblau imit. Gouache, blue de cobalt imit. A paint by any other name will look the same - in this case, blue. This 60ml tube of good quality #230 tempera is made in Italy by Maimeri & Co. Similar but much smaller (18ml) tubes are retailing for $7.50. Buy one of those and you'll really be blue.

Not Tempura, tempera. Color things Dark Green or Burnt Sienna (sort of dark brick red) but don't eat these 1-7/8" sq x 3/8" thick, 2 oz cakes of dry paint. From Weber-Costello, they are called "Biggie" and sell for $2.00 in the big boys' catalogs. Don't you love surplus??
