WATCH OUT! WATCH OUT! It's a congregation of annoying, white-faced, voice-challenged, hyperactive drama students trying to break out of their imaginary .... Oh. Mines? Oh. WATCH OUT! It's a minefield! Luckily we have these triangular aluminum warning signs, enameled in red, with MINES written in 1-1/2" white letters. (2) 1/4" mounting holes, 11-3/8" across the top. Buy one for your teenager's bedroom.

Brand new jug from the Norwegian military, but we know it'll be just as happy holding American liquids. It's in army-green plastic with a red, gasketed screw cap. Measures a compact 9-1/4" tall x 7-1/4" x 6-1/4" and holds a surprising (5) liters (approx 1.3 gallons). The handle on top is very slightly raised and there's a matching recess on the bottom, so they'll stack and stay stacked. Clever, those Norwegians.

Authentic WWII issue from the Belgian army. The black-painted steel housing might be pretty beat up, or even dented (you know those wacky Belgians) but the insides are genuine Thermos® brand with a Pyrex® class liner that's still perfect, because Pyrex® is tough stuff, and clean, because it's glass. It's 10" tall x 4-7/8" dia with a big 3-1/2" ID mouth. Wire and wood or all wire handle, screw-on 1-7/8"-deep tin-cup top, and a big cork stopper inside. The outside has instructions in Dutch (or maybe Flemish?) and French, which add to the charm. You can relax, however, because they're just instructions on how to use a Thermos® bottle, which we're pretty sure you've already mastered.

From our friends at the Naval Training Equipment Center come these 2-1/2” x 3-1/2” black-on-white flash cards of U.S. and foreign ships and planes. The 2-deck set has (55) cards for ships and (55) for planes and copters. (The cards are from 1983, so those that are no longer current, are now collectible!) Each aircraft card shows silhouettes from different perspectives, with the wing and fuselage markings as well as info on size, speed and range. Each ship card shows the silhouette and a diagram of the weapons placement, and lists the countries, class, length and displacement for that ship. Interesting. Informative. Very cool looking, whether you’re interested in arms or in art!

Let the rest of the world outfit its armies with rockets and tanks. We prefer Switzerland, with its Swiss Army Knife and, now, its Swiss Army Horseshoe Nails. Our each is a box of (100) shiny, flat, steel nails with square beveled heads, each head imprinted with a tiny cross. The #6 nails are 2-1/8" long. The #8s are 2-7/16" long. Even the box is a retro find. Such sticklers for details, these pacifistic Swiss.
