Hang this holographic prism in the window for delicate, changing color effects. As the sun shines through, it throws splashes of red, yellow, green, blue, violet and more around the room. The glass disc is 4-1/8" dia x 1/4" thick with a chrome-look frame. Comes with a suction cup hanger to mount it on a window. (Find a way to make it rotate for an especially cool effect!)

Because he knows that at 2:47 his hour and minute hands are going to give him a nice mustachioed Snidely Whiplash look. The rest of the day, he's a big, bright-yellow, smiley-face quartz clock with black hands, eyes and a grin on his 8" dia face. Has a 1/4" keyed slot on the back for mounting. You just add a "AA" battery and wait until it's thirteen minutes to three.

Everyone needs a "Mosquito Crossing" sign at the summer cottage. If you own a formal wear shop or a wedding chapel, you really need the "Penguin Crossing" sign. Taverns everywhere should warn patrons about inattentive jackalopes, and actual dairy farmers might have a genuine, non-cute, need for the "Cow Crossing" version. These are all well-made 12" square indoor/outdoor metal signs, painted standard traffic yellow with a black border and realistic animal graphics. Each hangs diagonally from a pre-drilled 1/4" hole.

The natural texture of slate. The natural deep-gray color of slate. But this tasteful hanging for a wall or fountain in your home, office or garden is really cast marble. The 7-3/4" dia disc is approx 5/16" thick, with different but related designs on the front and back. Allow the Fates (or Barry, back in the warehouse) to identify your predetermined oriental, Celtic, floral or inspirational design. Hang your slate from the 8" copper tube that comes with it. Meditate. Shhh.

And sparkling all the while! Big (20" long x 1-3/4" at the wide end) translucent-plastic spirals to hang in your window or backyard, where they'll to twirl, spin and may even sparkle for your amusement-and disconcert the squirrels in the bargain. We'll pick (3) in assorted sparkly and/or non-sparkly colors. They come on 9-1/2" long nylon cords, and if you happen to be in charge of decorating the municipal Christmas tree, we'd suggest a gross or two. (They'd also make very festive salad tongs, btw.)

Why does Roger always get the credit for the skull and crossbones pirate flag? We feel it is time to share and have elected Barry to the post because he just walked by the vast editorial department here at A.S.&S. (AKA "my desk") Our Jolly Barry flag is 3ft x 5 ft., black polyester with a reinforced edge containing grommets for flying. It has the traditional skull and crossbones in white with the added fillip that the skull is wearing an eye patch! Sail Away!!

You understand why we had to buy this, right? A giant plastic human ear, a foot-and-half tall x almost a foot wide? We had no choice, really. And we think you don't either, because it's a GIANT PLASTIC EAR. It's made of thin plastic, like a 3" deep gelatin mold and, yes, of course you could make a huge gelatin dessert ear with it. Or hang it on a wall with a little tape or judicious ear piercing (no pun unintended) and some string, maybe cut out a space for the microphone on your front-door intercom and talk to the ear. Buy a bunch, sew them to a bed sheet and wear it as cape while you go around saying "I'm all ears." Grease the inside and make plaster of Paris ears to line your walls, tell people it's your listening room. Or just put it on the table, use the indentation to store your eye-Pod. Sadly, we have only left ears (the same one VanGogh cut off) but we've got an eye out for their mates.

Minimalism meets functionality. When nothing is hung on it, our clear-plastic key-shaped key holder, 10" long and about 4" at its widest point, blends right into the wall behind it. Very subtle. (6) 7/8" long L-shaped hooks fit through countersunk 3/16" square holes. You assemble it and supply the screws for the (2) 1/8" countersunk mounting holes. In theory, when it's mounted against the wall, the hooks are held in place. In practice, we suggest a bit of model glue at the base of each hook. Functionality aside, it's a cool giant key!

You’re not into cottage-cute or modern minimalism? Opt for these shelf brackets, fashioned from flat black steel, with just enough curve to add interest. Set of (2) brackets in your choice of sizes. Each bracket in the small set is 3/4” wide, 4” x 3” OA, for shelves 4” to 6” deep. Each in the medium set is 7/8” wide, 7” x 5” OA, for shelves 6” to 8” wide. Mount a shelf on top of the brackets, or turn the whole configuration upside down so the decorative steel braces serve as bookends. They come predrilled and with mounting screws.
