Finally! Stereo headphones that snuggle around the nape of your neck instead of messing up your coif. You pick from a pair of low-impedance, clean-sounding, 36-ohm headphones made by Jensen and bearing their logo, with 4-foot leads and the standard 1/8" miniplug to fit most all devices. Or the logo-free versions that are just, well, logo-free (and a buck cheaper).

Yes, mike, not mic. We've taken a phonetic stand here, so don't call. This particular mike is a low impedance (600 Ohm) cardioid dynamic microphone with 15-foot, XLR-to-1/4" unbalanced plug, cord. Includes a 1/8" mini-plug adapter and an extremely nice, soft leather pouch. Measures 7" long with an internal windscreen and on/off switch.

Winner of Pat and CJ's Great Headphone Shootout of 2006, low-impedance headphones with very nice sound quality come with a 4-ft cord and the standard 1/8" male miniplug. Very nice bass response.

Neat-freak alert! End ugly cord proliferation, free up electrical outlets, keep your electronic devices in one place overnight-AND have everything charged when you need it! The Power Station holds (3) wall adapters and cords inside it, where they plug into a built-in internal power strip. Thread the business ends of the chargers through the little openings in the front and keep your cell-phone, MP3 player, PDA, Blueberry, GameLads, whatever, snug in the adjustable holders on top. The designer plastic case measures 10-1/2" long x 5" wide x 3-3/4" deep, and has a 6-foot power cord. It will probably be pink, but the box isn't marked, and some other color could always show up. These are, after all, leftovers from a well-known catalog merchant whose last name is the same as Geo. Washington's house.

Introducing the world's first electronic mom, the "Vision Mate." Our little (6-1/4" x 4-1/4" x 1-1/2") black box is an infrared-fired signal interrupter that stops the show, or game, when the audience gets too close to the screen. You attach it between the RF input on the TV and the antenna, cable box, videogame, VCR or DVD player. Set the trigger distance from 0 to 6 feet (check with your mom) and the trigger speed from 2 to 6 seconds. Since it works as a motion sensor, it also suggests some interesting possibilities for robotics and other projects. Comes with a wall adapter for power, a 4-foot coaxial cable, and a black metal mounting bracket you can use or ignore.

We like this a whole bunch as the starter digital camera for the budding Weegee. It's the Concord 1.3 Megapixel Digital Camera with 2X digital zoom. Does single-shot photography and video clips. The 1.6" color LCD screen provides instant review of pictures and video. Has 8 MB internal memory, stores up to 60 images. Webcam functionality for PC. The 4-3/8" x 2-3/8" x 1-3/8" camera comes with software, a standard cable to download pictures through your computer's USB port, a multilingual quick-start manual and software, batteries, a carrying case with a belt loop, a second face-plate, and a wrist strap. You supply an SD memory card. Minimum system requirements are Windows® 98/ME/2000/XP, but the camera pre-dates Vista®, so there are no guarantees there. Technical support is available from the manufacturer.

Possibwy whimsical. Wooks a widdew wike a weird awien beewing. OK, OK, we'll stop that. It's a cute little FM scan radio, a 2-3/8" dia silver sphere with a pair of smaller half-round suction-cup feet and a goofy spiral, flexible wire antenna growing out of the top of its head. Has a 1-1/4" dia removable clear window in front so you can add a photo, or maybe an eyeball. Has a rotary on/off/vol wheel, scan and reset buttons, and comes with (2) "AAA" batteries plus a little plastic self-adhesive mounting platform that's a touch more permanent than the suction cups. Pwetty nice pwice, too.

Armed with orange-rubber squeeze bulbs, the Techie Team is blowing through the dust bunny races! Okay, it's a little exaggeration. They're not full-grown dust bunnies, they're dust specks. And the Techies are just blowing them off circuit boards, electrical contacts, and vintage Motown platters. But the 4" x 2" dia bulb with a 1/2" x 1/8" ID brass tube on the end has greater precision and a much longer shelf life than an aerosol duster, and provides more fun than they would ever have at Hialeah!

Make your portable CD player really portable: take it for a ride with these skip stabilizers. The plastic housing is full of springs that should eliminate skips on all but the worst roads. Plus, each has an adapter that connects your car's cigarette lighter with your CD player. (To hear the music, though, you'll have to order-from us, naturally-a pair of speakers for the player's headphone jacks.) The DC-DC converter by itself would be a steal at this price. Use it for your CDs, or for any small DC appliance: tape deck or perhaps a portable espresso machine? Made by Koss; (2) different ones: 5-5/8" x 6-3/8" x 1-1/4", black. #27640's output is 9VDC at 500 mA; the output plug is 5mm. #27642 is 6VDC, 500mA, with a 3.5mm plug. All (3) take the standard 12VDC input.

everyone would know you've been shopping here. From our never-ending supply of stuff that does more than one thing: Picture frames with flat, invisible, speakers built in right behind your favorite 5" x 7" pix. One of them even has a hidden radio in the back. Our each is a nice pair of 9-5/8" x 7-3/4" clear-finish wood frames that will stand on a table or hang from the wall. Both are 4-ohm speakers and one has a small 5W amplifier/FM tuner as well, but they're really made to connect to a computer, CD or MP3 player. Includes a 5-foot speaker-wire jumper, a 5-foot input cord with a standard mini-plug, and an adapter for power. Nice way to conceal speakers in a room or to combine family pics with enhanced PC sound on the desktop.
