Tough Models

Warning!  WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD-Small Parts. Not for children under 3 yrs.

A construction-grade Cindy Crawford? You wish. No, just difficult (and definitely not for toddlers) models/puzzles. But if you've got a building-set whiz-bang in the back seat, these 50-piece, 3-D puzzles are demanding and rewarding to assemble, plus they come in ultra-thin packages for traveling. The highly detailed, colorful pieces punch out of a couple of 6" x 4-1/2" credit-card-weight plastic sheets but assemble to sizes ranging from 4-3/4" x 3-1/2" to 8-1/2" x 4-1/2". We'll pick (2) different ones from a selection of heavy construction vehicles and nasty robo-animals (think "Rhinotank" and "Wolfborg").

Create Your Own 15-Puzzle

You know, those 15 squares in a 16-slot frame, where you slide them around to put them in the right order. They usually have numbers or a picture on them, but these are blank white squares so you can write, draw, or paste you own puzzle on them. Each is 2-3/8" square. The monitor puzzle is set in a computer-monitor-shaped back; the bulb puzzle in a hand-friendly lightbulb-shaped back.

Shake, Rattle & Throw

Warning!  WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD-Small Parts. Not for children under 3 yrs.

Golf, without all that exercise and fresh air. Three cool green dice with traditional white spots, plus a fourth die with game shots, like Out of Bounds. One or two players keep score on the small, reusable game board. Barring any interest in golf, you can still stay out of the sun and find some desultory game to play with the dice.
