Nothing beats defying gravity for fun. Now you can master levitation with the Fun-Fly-Stick™, an electrostatic wand that comes with (5) foil flyers: a butterfly, (3) spheres, and an hourglass shape. Turn on the 19" long wand and watch the shapes float and dance at your command. Takes a little practice (it's levitation, for Pete's sake) but provides hours of magical fun. You add a couple "AA" batteries and a little practice guided by the 10pp instruction booklet. And if the dog eats the shapes, a full set of refills are available.

Makes us want to dance every time we wind up one of these clever/goofy fools. The little 3-1/2" tall squarehead with the smiley face does what some of us (of a certain age) believe is a modified bugaloo. Very nice hip action, a rotating tummy, and watch out for those swinging arms. If you've ever said "to live is to dance, to dance is to live," you need this guy. We'll send you a red, grey or blue version, but frankly, you ought to have to a pair, because nobody likes to boogie alone.

Does anyone need to be told what a Slinky(tm) toy is?? Okay, it is a very slack spring, 2-7/8" dia x 2-1/2" long, compressed. It will stretch out to about 5 or 6 feet long without deforming. That's the boring part. The interesting part is that it "follows" itself. Slosh it from hand to hand. Put in on the top step of stairs, flip the end down a step, and watch it walk down stairs, or down an incline. Believe us, no childhood (or adulthood) is complete without an original stainless steel Slinky(tm). It was hard for us to find it, but we are glad we did. You should be too.

It's a ptero-pen, a standard ballpoint pen with a flying pterodactyl perched on top, spring-loaded so that when you write, he flaps his gray-plastic wings. When you write ellipses…he flaps them really fast. The dino is 2-1/2" long with a 5" wingspan, and the pen comes with its own little stand.

Put this lovely red-eyed skeleton in a tub or bucket for a couple of days and he'll grow from a skinny 9 inches (approx) to a robust and disgusting foot and a half or more, with a nicely creepy facial expression. We'll pick one in green, purple, or another Halloween-appropriate, semi-nauseating color. Shrinks back to the original size when dry, for ease of storage.

And in the kitchen. Lose the pics of the dog and build your very own marble track device on the fridge door. Comes with (11) pieces: (2) 8" and (2) 6" rails, (2) curvy 11" switchback rails, a "tornado funnel," a 3" dia spinning wheel, a couple of counterweighted spinning buckets and a catch box--all held on by magnets--plus a dozen marbles, because you're going to lose a few under that fridge. It's all done in high-fashion lime green and purple plastic and if mathematics works, there ought to be 100 possible Goldbergian combinations. CJ calls it very cool, and we trust him.

From France comes this fun mechanical plastic bird that really flies by flapping its wings. It is about 8" long and has a wingspan of 16" tip to tip. Snap the wings in place, wind up the rubberband drive and toss it gently into the air on its maiden flight. It flies up to fifty yards with a satisfying fluttering sound. Comes with a spare rubberband drive mechanism.

Better than rubber vomit. More fun than a whoppee cushion. This radio-controlled rat moves forward, turns left, spins around, stares at you with red, glowing eyes. Dark-gray plastic, he's about 13" from his pointed little nose to the point of his tail. Works up to 50 feet from the wireless hand-held controller. Requires (3) "AA" batteries, (1) 9 volt battery and a kid 8 years or older, none of which are included.

Spin the ribbed 7" handle of this hand-powered prop between your palms, and watch it take off. (If it lands instead of flying off into the wild blue yonder, reverse the spin!) Neon handle, bright, metallic-flaked 8" propeller, and a lift so high we imprinted it with our logo - the airborne Jarvis. It's all plastic, and won't decapitate anyone, but it's still for 10-year-olds and up.
