Clear acrylic sealed tube, 3-1/8" dia x 8" tall, divided into two equal chambers. The dividing wall has a hole in the center, and the tube has a quantity of viscous violet goo (glycerin?) in it that fills one chamber about 3/4 full. Stand the tube on end with the full chamber up, and over a 10 minute period the goo will ooze from the upper to the lower chamber, blowing bubbles and dribbling droplets in the process, all in slow motion. The action is somewhat reminiscent of a lava lamp, without the heat and light, and with a mixed air and goo chamber that yields much more interesting patterns. Mesmerizing, disgusting, fascinating, soothing. If you only need a little soothing you may want to try the same thing in a smaller size: 2-1/8" diameter x 4-7/8" tall. It comes in a variety of colors from which we will choose yours.

Good goop in a nice transparent egg-shaped-and-size plastic container. This goop is an attractive orangey pink with gold glitter, orangey green with green glitter or a purpley blue with blue glitter and is slightly gooier than putty, but much more dense than slime. (On our American Scientific Putty/Slime Viscosity Scale, which is the same range as pH, we rank this as 2.7.) Ball it up and it'll bounce; squeeze it and it's perfect worry goop.

Like an hourglass, but with multicolored oozy gloop instead of sand. Much more fun to watch. They're called "Shining Timers," but they're pretty vague as to the timing part. The 8" x 3-1/8" dia timer, tripartite like Gaul, has red, blue and yellow gloop in the divided acrylic chambers. Runs out in about 20 minutes, give or take. The little guy is 5" tall x 2-1/8" dia, bifurcated with blue and clear gloop in the half-round chambers, and takes approx 5-6 minutes.

Amaze and delight your science class! Pour this red sand into water. As you scoop it out and it breaks through the surface of the water, you can see that the sand isn't wet. The spoon is wet. Your fingers, if you used them, are wet. The sand is dry! The hydrophobic granules created with trimethylhydroxysilane are always dry. They call it Space Sand". We would, too, if we had to write trimethylhydroxysilane very often. See the back of the 2-oz pack for information about it and suggestions for experiments.

OK, fart goop. Stick in your thumb, pull out a flatulent sound. Comes in a 4-ounce plastic jar with a "whoops"-looking, nose-holding face for a lid. (The upside: It smells like bubblegum.) If you'd buy all of it, there wouldn't be any left for people to play with here in the office. Please.

In your bilious-green zombie-brain mold. The plastic mold measures 9" x 7-3/8" x 3" deep and comes with (2) recipes on the box: (1) for your natural, nauseating-gray-but-yummy brain gelatin mold, and (1) for a festive bright green version infested with worms. (Gummy worms not included.) Don't like gelatin desserts? Switch to plaster of Paris and make a smart-looking paperweight.

What's buried in the 2-1/4" high pyramid? A dark, super-slimy sarcophagus! It's entombed in iridescent less-slimy slime (to keep the slimes, no doubt, from becoming inseparable soul mates). Teasingly tactile -- but don't believe everything you read on the label about stretching, bouncing and blowing the slime.

The real deal. 2-1/2" long red egg-shaped container with a blob of Silly PuttyTM inside. Does anyone need me to explain all the fun you'll have with Silly Putty? I thought not. Just get some today!

It's possible that we have this cleverly packaged putty because a little green scientist messed up on the formula. The label he packed with the UFO-shaped container says you can "string it and stretch it," but this cool neon putty is really a tactile glob to knead and play with like…uh…putty. But, no, we think it's a language problem. He obviously meant to say "sling it and fetch it…."

So call it "Slappy." The clear-plastic egg has transparent slime for ersatz albumen and a 1" super-bouncy ball with a smiley face for a yolk. It comes apart so you can interact with the insides. Staggeringly low educational value but a whoopee factor that's off the charts.

This 5" tall plastic jar is filled with assorted colors of goop (our choice). The goop, and the striped rubber worm in it, will be tactile nirvana to the right kid.
