Tired of being beholden to the computer mega-corporations? Get back to basics with the original computer. This fine wood abacus is approximately 9-3/4" x 4-3/4", with (13) sets of (5) balls and (13) sets of (2). Computing speed is considerably slower than even an old 286, but then it's guaranteed to never need rebooting. Instructions included. Made in China, naturally.

You may well have wondered where the boneless chicken breasts in your local supermarket come from. The answer is from boneless chickens. And we have some life sized rubber models of the birds to prove it. Modeled from life, they are shown plucked and as they might appear hanging in the poultry store window. Seeing is believing, at least in Missouri, so get one and look.

Life size Green Iguana, 3 ft. long from nose to tail. His tail is turned so he only takes 2 ft. of branch (or shelf) space. He weighs a hearty 3lbs. We have seen these guys being sold for food along the roadside in Central America, and we swear you could not tell it from the real thing--except that there they have Blue Iguanas. Not pretty, but not meant to be. The lizard fan in your family will fall in love at first sight. Hard rubber, beautifully painted.

Plastic disc, 2-1/4" dia with a diffraction grating face. Place the disc in the sunlight, and it will reflect a myriad of rainbow splashes on a wall, ceiling, screen etc. Neat!

Behold our version of the gravity-fed sliding woodpecker. Ours is a 1-3/4" standard black woodpecker, not counting his cute red plume, slowly pecking his way down a 16-1/2" tall metal rod. His super-rapid, lifelike pecking action is strangely compelling to adults, and draws belly laughs from toddlers!

A medium pepperoni. Our giant tarantula has a legspan of approx 17", a body about 7" long, painted details, and nice red accents on the dangerous parts. Which is sort of cute until you learn that there are real tarantulas this big. Don't think about it. Just buy this giant spider and put it on top of your pizza to keep your sister from eating it. It's rubber, so the grease will wipe right off.

Like a miniature rubber parrot. But round. We found this stash of 1-1/4" dia dense rubber balls in more patterns and colors than we've ever seen. Tie-dyed, harlequin, marbleized, patchwork-a rainbow of bounce. We'll pick an assorted collection of (10) for you. Duplicates? Maybe. Maybe not.

Some of our biggest thinkers, in extremely cute, 3" tall incarnations. The tiny bodies and big heads of these icons come from Lord Crumwell's Oddfellows™ collection. Edgar Allan Poe is striking a somewhat Napoleonic pose, or perhaps he's just feeling for a tell-tale heart. Isaac Newton (great hair, Ike) is contemplating an apple. Science or lunch? We'll never know. And Madame Curie, nee Maria Sklodowska (but Pierre called her Manya) is clutching some lab glass and looks a little worried, as she should have been.

You know, those 15 squares in a 16-slot frame, where you slide them around to put them in the right order. They usually have numbers or a picture on them, but these are blank white squares so you can write, draw, or paste you own puzzle on them. Each is 2-3/8" square. The monitor puzzle is set in a computer-monitor-shaped back; the bulb puzzle in a hand-friendly lightbulb-shaped back.

Interesting wire contraption that we played with as a child. A series of (4) tiers of overlapping and intertwined brass wire semicircular hoops are anchored at the open end to a pair of full circles. The whole can be shaped into a tube, double balls, a flower petal, etc, depending upon what areas are opened, which closed. A variety of colored beads on the hoops add a decorative touch. Fun, intriguing and decorative all at the same time.
