Mighty Attractive Quarter
Just a touch larger than a quarter, actually, but pretty close, this magnet is something of a mighty-mite. Our 1" dia x 1/8" thick neodymium disc has a 7-lb lift, which means you can hang some pretty hefty stuff on your refrigerator door. Just don't put the magnet directly on the fridge, or you're going to have to slide it across it to get it off and, sorry, but we don't refinish the finish if you scratch it!

Interesting Ceramics
Ceramic magnets, 15/16" dia x 3/16" thick. One side has a 5/16" sq that goes through to a steel plate is octagonal, 9/16" across with a 3/16" dia hole in the center. The plate allows flexible mounting of the 3/4 lb lift magnet. The other interesting feature is that the ceramic appears to have many poles around the rim, (4 ea N and S). This may be a focussing effect of the insert, though.

Button Magnet
No holes, just a shiny plated neodymium magnet the size of a button-cell battery or, well, a button. Measures 11/16" dia x 1/8" thick, with approx a 4-lb pull. Polarized on both faces.

DIY Fridge Magnets
Start with a 42" x 3/4" x 1/32" thick strip magnet-refrigerator-magnet strength-with dark blue or white vinyl facing (we'll pick, but more are blue, and either color could be peeled off the black magnet with a little effort). Then get a contrasting marker, a pair of scissors, and make your own fridge stick-ups. (We found this particularly useful for personalized, threatening messages on the office ice box.)

Excellent Electomagnet
Physics project alert! This robust puppy of a magnet has dual 6V coils and stands 4" high x 3-1/4" wide, not counting the side terminals. Each coil draws 2.4A at 6VDC, and is conservatively rated for 40 Newtons (approx 9 lbs) at that voltage. Can be wired in either parallel or series, and comes with a mounting hook. Works great with a 6-volt lantern battery.

We've Got A Handle
Well, we've got a handle on this one, anyway. And it needs one, cuz it'll grab onto (and hold onto) 100 lbs if the surface is flat. Which means you've got an instant handle for moving big steel stuff. With its open-ended handle, it even works as a no-installation hook on an I-beam. Handle and magnet together are 5" long x 3-1/2" tall x 1' thick, with a plastic body for the ceramic magnets, and a rubberized grip. Paul says it's quite, well, handy.

One-Way Magnet
This was pronounced "very interesting" by our magnet-investigation team, but they wouldn't tell us why. This 1-15/16" x 3/4" x 1/8" thick ceramic magnet is magnetized on only one face, so it sticks to stuff but stuff doesn't stick to it. Or at least that's one way to look at this attractive example of passive/aggressive behavior. Will hang on for approx 3/4 of a pound's worth. You'll get (10).

I Had A Hard Life
Let me rephrase that. I was in a hard drive. But I'm out now, a nice little grippy magnet pretty much permanently glued to a 2-1/2" x 3/4" x 1/8" boomerang-shaped steel plate with (4) mounting holes, (2) mounting slots, and I may or may not have a leftover plastic clip on a small post. Howsabout giving me a home? I'm quirky looking, but really quite attractive, with my 12 lb pull.

Mighty Attractive Cylinder
You pick between two cylinders -- the solid rod, or the hollow tube. They're both very strong rare-earth neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) nickel-plated magnets. The rod is 1/2" dia x 1" long with an 8-lb pull. The unusual tube-shaped magnet is 1/2" dia x 1-1/2" long x 0.313" ID with a 7-lb pull.
