Micro-Plywood
Small pieces of very thin plywood for your craft and model-making needs. You get 18 cubic inches, which will translate into multiple sheets of 3-ply poplar, birch or similar wood at 1/8 to 3/16" thicknesses in random shapes. Our sample was (6) sheets, 6" long x 2" to 3" wide, some at 1/8" and some at 3/16". Perfect for custom-made dollhouse doors!

Sheets Of Pseudo Silver
Surplus - with a silver lining! We have almost half a hundred rolls of 18-1/2" wide mylar film, the shiny side printed with a variety of balloon designs - happy birthday, happy retirement, happy other things - and a matte silver finish on the other (picture the two sides of aluminum foil). We'll send you a roll of 20 ft. Lots of craft-project potential. Start with a shiny birthday kite. Move onto hand-made hair scrunchies. Jim suggests wrapping yourself in it if your car stalls in the Arctic. Philip, always the adventurer, is considering a do-it-yourself dirigible.

Bait Retriever?
That's what it says on the label, but we don't get it either. We think it's just good quality nylon cord at a bargain. We offer a package of (4) spools (with 1-1/2" long spindles), each with 25 feet of .015" thick, 27-lb test nylon cord. Don't feel obligated to retrieve bait with it.

The planets. You can own them. These wood balls with holes drilled in them (but not through them) were meant to be planets and moons for a solar system model. Do it yourself. You and your kids will learn a lot more than if you bought a kit that does all the thinking for you. Some balls are painted bright colors, some are varnished natural wood. Most have at least one 1/4" hole, some have smaller holes. They could also be joints and/or finials for some kind of dowel construction. Nothing to stop you from drilling new holes for a truly custom project.

A Lot Of Pull
Pick up this 1-3/4" x 7/8" x 3/8" ceramic pick-up magnet while we still have it. It's in a heavy metal housing and has a stationary metal hoop, about 1/2" i.d., on top. The manufacturer tells us the magnet will grab up to 30 lbs of metal, and while Pat wouldn't bet on anything over 20 lbs, it's still very strong. Especially if you're going to dangle it on the end of a cord to gather spilled nails or to fish your keys out of the lake/pond/sewer/drain!

Interesting Ceramics
Ceramic magnets, 15/16" dia x 3/16" thick. One side has a 5/16" sq that goes through to a steel plate is octagonal, 9/16" across with a 3/16" dia hole in the center. The plate allows flexible mounting of the 3/4 lb lift magnet. The other interesting feature is that the ceramic appears to have many poles around the rim, (4 ea N and S). This may be a focussing effect of the insert, though.

Born to live on an ignominious exercise device of some sort, this sturdy, black, open-cell foam cylinder is 5-1/2" long x 2-7/8" dia with a 1/2" ID bore through its center. We see it threaded on nylon rope for life as a pool-lane or lakefront-swimming-area divider, or as a tasteful boat bumper. (Yes, it floats.) But it has lots of bumper-type, uses, too, like slipping a couple behind a step-on garbage can to keep it from bumping into the kitchen wall. Just for starters. Think about the potential….

This yellow pad of dense rubber foam measures 8-3/8" sq x 3/8" thick with (25) 5/16" dia holes spaced 1-1/4" apart. Textured on one side, smooth on the other. It was made as part of a kidlet's pegboard math game, but it's now ready for a second life as generic padding, an electronics shock absorber, a toss-able toy, arts/craft material, or anything else for which you can use a perforated hunk of washable, nonskid, stain-proof yellow foam.
