Melt & Mold
You saw Utile Plast" granules on TV, where the versatile material was pitched as durable, waterproof, unbreakable, nonconductive, biodegradable, nontoxic and reusable! Too bad it wasn't pitched at this price! Use it with wood, metal or plastic by heating the black, red or white (our choice) granules in 140°F (60°C) water until they become temporarily clear, then shaping the soft Utile Plast to make repairs, form anchors to hold a screw or bolt, join two elements, and more. You'll have 3-1/5 oz (100g) to play with. We're making up our lists now.

Wiiiiide Duct Tape
Wider than some ducts, in fact. For really big fixes, this is the "Big Fix Duct Tape" from Nashua® Tape. You get a 15-foot roll of 12" wide tape in the classic silver color. You cut it to size and shape for custom repairs to plumbing, HVAC, sporting goods, furniture, doors, windows, tarps, and car and truck bodies, for starters. Make cuts on the side with the paper liner. (The liner's also there to keep it from sticking to itself and making you look like you're in an I Love Lucy episode when you apply it.)

Soldering Gun in a Jar
Wire glue-the solution when you can't find the soldering iron, don't want to bother, are out in the woods, don't quite trust a fifth-grader with a hot gun, can't reach the connection with both hands, whatever. This stuff conducts low voltage AC and DC circuits in a permanent bond and is easy to use. Our high-tech support group suggests that a toothpick is a good way to apply it. Cures overnight. Our each is a 0.3 oz/9ml jar.

Upside-Down Adhesive

Non-solvent and non-toxic, the 1.15 fl oz dispenser sits nozzle-down in a self-sealing stand/cap, so it's always ready to squeeze, not unlike your modern ketchup bottles.

Where Other Tape Fears To Tread
Use marine wrap tape. White vinyl, self-fusing. Made for lines, rigging ropes and wires, but great for bundling or any application where moisture is a problem. Pull it 2 or 3 times its own length while you wrap with it, and then press it to itself to seal. You get a 10-foot roll, 1" wide x .020" thick, which is like getting 20 to 30 feet of landlubber tape.

Something Dripping?
Relax, it's just water. Condensation. If you had some closed-cell foam tape, you could fix those pipes. Guess what? Our 30-foot roll of 1/8" thick x 2" wide self-adhesive foam tape is waiting. Wrap it around your hot water (less than 180°) pipes or cold water (when not running) pipes, and your dripping troubles are over. Also useful as light padding material wherever you need it.
