And the carpenter's extra hand. Corner clamps are indispensable for holding miters while drilling and nailing, and having four of them can solve a lot of ugly assembly problems. Our aluminum version is marked to adjust for any angle from 0° to 90°, and locks with a thumbscrew. Jaws open to 2-7/8". Has 3/16" mounting holes on the underside, and measures approx 6" x 7" OA. Our each is one single clamp, not a set, but the price is a good excuse to order (3) more!

What a cool little clamp! Only 8" long overall, the jaws open to 4" when you press the release button and close incrementally as you pull the trigger. The 3/4" x 7/8" pads on the metal-and-plastic tool won't mar the surfaces they're sandwiching. Makes you want to find something to clamp!

Welders and other people with marketable skills know that these are sheet metal clamps, but the rest of us treasure the sundry other wonders they perform. (Wasn't that poetically put?) The handles lock, and the 3" wide jaws are just ducky at straightening out bent stuff, taking cookie sheets out of hot ovens, clamping oddly-shaped things with even pressure while the glue dries, snapping tile or glass after scoring it, and thumbscrew tightening. Made for Michigan Industrial Tools of drop-forged chromed steel, 8" long.

Whoops. Make that needle-nose clamps, although you could clamp noses with them, we suppose. Painful, though, since these woodworkers' and crafters' friends are "super-grips" in spring-loaded plastic, 4-1/2" long x 3/16" wide. They open to a max of 3" with very small, padded tips. Our each is a package of (6). From Michigan Industrial Tools.

Kitchen vise? Whatever. This small, cast-aluminum table vise has 1-3/8" long x 1/4" jaws that open to a maximum of 1-1/4". Clamps on tabletops up to 1-3/8" thick. Very light duty, but good for hobby and craft uses, and it just might save you a trip to the basement for small tasks.

Devices used to hold spring in place, thus ensuring eternally promis-ing, but changeable and wet weather. No? How about this then: Steel grips, spring loaded to keep their tips tightly closed on whatever you chose to target. The handles and tips have been coated with a light plastic to improve grip and provide a bit of insulation. The clamp is about 4" long x 5/8" wide and opens about 1-1/4". They have strong grips and will crush fragile items, but do a good job of holding things while the glue dries, you do the soldering, or the materials bond.

93283 SPRING CLAMP, 4" |
Rubber-headed spring clamp holds objects (up to 1/4" thick) in a firm grip but won't hurt them. A two-position thumb latch locks the 3" long U-shaped clamp closed on thicker or thinner stuff. Meant for clamping things together while glue sets, but you could also use this clamp to grab onto something loopless so you can hang it from a hook.

Clamps with no springs attached. You pick the little clampini or the big clamponi, both molded-plastic hand clamps with a small hydraulic-like cylinder for smooth tension adjustments and a vice-grip-style quick release. The small one opens to a max of 2” with 1-1/8" x 7/8" jaw pads. The big one opens to a max of 3” with 1-7/16" x 1-1/8" jaw pads. Both have substantial serrations on the inner sides of the jaws.

Good as bubblin' gold. Hobbyists, crafters and small-scale carpenters will love this 8-piece set, with (2) 6" bar-slide F clamps, (2) 5" ratcheting clamps that open to 1.5", and (4) 2-1/2" alligator-style spring clamps with pivoting heads, not unlike our own.

37060 NYLON CLAMP SET |
It's a good thing we have Jim, our car guru, around, because nobody else in the place, including the very astute buyer who bought it, knew exactly what this thing was. Of course we all knew it was a black steel C-clamp. We could see that it had a 2-1/2" dia base plate and a 4-fingered claw with a 2" span that could be tightened against it. Who knew -- except Jim and his demolition-derby buddies -- that it was actually a clamp for hot-patch tire repairs? Ahh, the esoteric knowledge lodged in the brains around here. It's so scary....
