You're Feeling Calm...
Very calm. You're sensing inner peace and seeing the comforting, soft lights at the very core of consciousness. It's on account of you've got the Color Cube, dude. It's a soft white cube, 2-7/8" on a side with internal LEDs that morph from purple to pink, light green and blue every (5) seconds or so. Its (3) button-cell batteries are included, but this would still be a good time to order extra batteries, especially if you intend to sense inner peace for a long, long time.

Black-Light Magic Pen
For the kid with secret messages to pass, or the doorman at a SOHO club-a gel pen that writes in invisible ink that shows up fluorescent orange under the ultraviolet light from the LED that's attached to the top of the pen on a bendable wire. Runs on (3) button cell batteries, included. The pen is 7-3/8" long, plus the light wire, which is approx 12" when unfurled. Includes a cap and pocket clip.

Laser Light Show
It's a standard keychain laser pointer, 2-1/2" long, 1/2" dia. But it comes with (5) different screw-on heads, allowing you to project everything from the useful (a single point) to the frivolous (a flying saucer, mudflap girl, two fingers up, dbl candy cane). Good distance, too. Specs: Class II laser; 630-680nM; output less than 1mW. Batteries are included. (Please note that the heads may change slightly)

A Little Lightning
Despite parental advice, here's a good reason to sit in in a dark room and think small. This Plasma Storm isn't as large as a standard plasma ball, so not only is it much more affordable -- the effect is concentrated and startling. The black plastic base has a switch. Turn it on at which point the 3" dia plastic globe (think baseball size) is filled with blue stems that flare to pink, looking like dozens of electric flowers searching for a way out. Very cool. Comes with a 6-ft power cord with transformer.

Whatever it is: bike parts, window frames, dog collars, a nice electric tiara, or your Stratocaster®. You pick (5) feet of blue or red 1/16” dia electroluminescent wire. It’s attached to a thin 19” power lead with a 2mm female plug that mates with a 4-1/8” x 1-1/4” x 3/4” control box with a belt clip. Powered by (2) “AA” batteries, it has constant-on and pulsating modes in 2/sec or 4/sec flashes. Hmm…. Bend it and use a little black tape to make your own mini-neon signs…. Magic Floating Light Balls
For your unmet festive yard needs. This 4-5/8" dia clear-plastic sphere contains a non-replaceable but rechargeable NiCad battery, a 2" square solar panel to keep it charged up, and a rubber-coated power switch. It comes with a constant white LED or a flashing multi-color LED inside it. It's maintenance-free, turning off and on as the ambient light waxes and wanes. You could toss a bunch into the pool for some floating cocktail-party elegance, but it does have a small mount on the top if you want to hang it from a tree. You ask us, we'd file off the mount and play night bocce ball.

"StarLight" is what its inventor calls it, but that doesn't begin to describe this automatic sound-sensitive rotating fiber-optic lamp/ambient sound-emitting one-of-a-kind home décor must-have. It's a tabletop or 4-foot-tall-tripod-mounted, insane revolving fiber-optic lamp that throws (11) different patterns of red, blue and green light through the spray of optical fibers atop its black steel saucer while it emits (6) different sound patterns via either sound-activated or you-activated switches. Its voices include morning-in-the-forest, surf-and-seagulls, midnight-in-the-jungle, and (3) different new-agey, churchish-funereal organ concerts. If you can't tell, maybe you should have installed this nice little 120VAC neon pilot lamp. It's attached to (2) 7" leads, draws less than 20mA, and does not need a limiting resistor. And you'd still have (9) left for robotics, hobbies, science fairs.

Stop Cursing The Darkness
Screw in one of these standard, medium-screwbase, photocell lightbulb sockets. On at dusk, off at dawn, or rotate the sleeve to cover the cell and the light just stays on. Our each is box of (3). Measure 2-1/2" (1-1/2" beyond the socket) and made for a maximum of 150 watts.
