EMF Tester
Here's a cost-effective tester that lets you determine the electromagnetic field around power lines, appliances, computer and communication equipment and industrial devices. The hand-held instrument measures EMF radiation from 30 to 300 Hz. Single axis. The range is 0.1-199.9 mG and 0.01-19.99 uT, with an accuracy of +/- 4%. The 5" x 2-3/4" x 1" plastic case has a 1-3/4" x 3/4" LCD display and a switch to toggle between micro Tesla and milli Gauss. Peltier Heat Pump
High tech comes to Am Sci & Surp!! It is here in the form of a Peltier junction, a thermo-electric device that translates electric power into heat, and perversely, into cool. Apply current @ 3-12 VDC to the gizmo and it extracts thermal energy from one face, thereby cooling it. The heat is dumped onto the other face, thereby heating it. Please note: you must use a heat sink on the hot side or the junction will fry itself, since it can quickly create a 65° C temperature differential in a no load situation. Stack two, or build a cascade to increase the thermal differential created. Or run it backwards. Apply heat or cold to the relevant face and produce a current. Amazing for science projects and experiments. Practical for coffee warmers, beer coolers and mini-refrigerator or warming oven applications. Comes with instructions. Large is 1-9/16" sq. x 3/16" thick.

Just A Simple Solenoid
This take-out solenoid valve is a simple open/closed solenoid valve that is normally closed. It draws 100mA at 12VDC. Has 3/16" OD inlet and outlet at right angles to each other. Housing measures 1-3/16" long x 15/16" dia with terminals at the back end.

Power Locks
We thought power corrupts, but it turns out otherwise. Power locks. You could put these in a car door, or think up something really kinetically clever. These brand new 12VDC door lock actuator assemblies draw 2.6A pushing or pulling with a 5/8" throw. Measure 4-5/8" long x 2-1/4" at the solenoid x 1-3/16" thick. Top is a removable plastic ring. Comes with 6-3/4" x 5/8" steel mounting bracket, a 9" rod and assorted screws.
