The Quadpod Exciter!
It's a self-amplified quadpod exciter, which sounds like it's illegal in some states, but is an extremely cool device that will turn pretty much anything into an audio speaker. Plug the 1/8" mini-jack into the sound source (think MP3 player), then stick the exciter on a resonant surface via the 29" cord and listen up. Thicker surfaces have more bass, thin ones more clarity at the treble end. We loved it on a 55-gallon cardboard drum, a computer case and John in the warehouse. You might try a file cabinet, beer cooler or a nice moose head. The device itself is in a 2-1/2" square housing with (4) self-adhesive offset legs. Has auto on/off switching and an approx 1/2A amp. Comes with (2) "AAA"s for power.

A Foot Of Speaker
It's a 12" dia x 5" deep speaker with a 16-oz magnet for some larger sounds. Our 50W/4-ohm speaker has a 1-1/2" voice coil, 30-4kHz frequency response. It's gasketed with (6) 3/16" mounting holes and quick-disconnect terminals.

Sharp Speaker
Literally. This 6 watt, 6 ohm speaker is from Sharp Corporation. The speaker is 4-3/8" x 2" oblong with (4) mounting holes, a paper cone and a 1-7/8" dia voice coil.

Sure-handed utility infielder for the Expos, late 80s. Also a horn-mounted speaker, 80W/2.5-35kHz frequency response, 97 decibel crossover at 5kHz/4uF. This tweeter is mounted in a black plastic horn measuring 7-3/16 wide x 3-1/8" high x 4" deep. Should work with a 4- or 8-ohm load, but you may want to put a low-value 1/2W resister in series to pad it down a bit. Has (8) 3/16" mounting holes and quick-disconnect terminals.

This nifty little take-out speaker from an iMac" looks sort of like a translucent acrylic Roman helmet. Has a 1" driver mounted in the 2-1/2" dia, uh, helmet, with short leads coming off it. Not rated, but wethinks it's 1/2 Watt. Hits that sweet spot between cute and useful.
