Take-Apart
Treadmills? Are those the large pieces of equipment, something like stationary bicycles, that people use as clothes racks? There can't be a lot of demand out there, then, for replacement displays if the originals have gone kaput. Looks like you're in luck, and we'll still have one of the 13" x 9-1/2" x 2-1/4" black-plastic control panel/displays left for you to take apart. The parts will include a 4-1/2" x 1-3/8" LCD, (6) touchpad buttons, and all the circuitry inside it.

Robotics alert. Or create your own phones with this 12-key keypad, just like the telephone standard, with a common output. Measures 2-1/2" x 2" x 5-1/6" wth 5/16" square rubber-coated keys, and mounting holes at the corners. Switch contacts rated for 24VDC at 20mA with a max 200 Ohm contact resistance. Or at least pretty old. The circa '70s car-radio tuner from Philco-Ford has a 6-position rotary switch with spring-loaded gears. Scrounge lots of capacitors, resistors, chokes, diodes, etc., from this tuner, or display one next to your favorite buggy whip.

Good things come in little packages. In this case the package is a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" x 1/2" modulator, and the good things are a circuit board with at least a trimpot, electrolytic capacitor, assorted coils, 3-pin connector, RCA plug and (2) pop-off covers. Have a blast.
