Mini Moto
Manny Moto's kid brother? Not at this price. This little hobby motor runs on 1-1/2 to 3VDC and draws approx 400mA while spinning between 700 and 1400 rpm. Hobby size, too: 1-1/8" x 3/4" with a 5/16" long shaft. Dandy for solar-power experiments, our motor maven says.

Little Gear Motor
Runs well from 3 to 24VDC, draws 25mA at 3VDC, up to 40mA at 24VDC. Stalls at 900mA at 24VDC. The gear motor is approx 2" long x 1-1/2" dia with a flattened shaft 1/4" dia x 3/8" long. Spins at 5 rpm at 3VDC on up to 48 rpm at 24VDC. Has 26" long leads with a Molex® connector.

Tough Gear Motor
Small but durable. Measures 1-1/2" long (including the terminals) x 1-1/16" dia, with a removable, 1-1/4" dia x 1-1/8" long gearbox and 3/16" x 3/8" long flattened offset shaft. Runs between 6-12 VDC. At 12 VDC, it spins 7 rpm and draws 90mA. Gearbox ratio is approx 400:1. Has (3) 3/32" mounting holes on the shaft face. Reversible.

Moving Air?
It's so much easier electrically. Get this small vacuum pump rated at 130 VDC 300mA. Comes in (2) parts. You'll need to add (4) small bolts to attach them together. Unit measures 5-1/2" x 3-3/4" x 2-1/4" OA, with 1/4" inlet and outlet hosebarb ports flanking the housing. Rated for intermittent duty it was originally designed for a vacuum-sealing food machine and will pull 25" Hg max.

Tabletop Fountain
You pick one with or without a spinning ball. Both tabletop fountains come with a black-plastic bowl 11-1/8" dia x 3-3/4" deep; a resin, slate-look 5" dia x 4" tall pump cover; and a submersible pump with adjustable flow control. The pump is 3” x 1-9/16” with a swiveling 7/16” OD outlet pipe, in-line power switch, gasketed bushing, and wall adapter. The “ball” version comes with a 2-3/8” marble ball that spins in the water at the top. The sedate, plain version lacks the ball, but Paul, our in-house hydrodynamics engineer/pool hustler feels that a standard cue ball, being just 1/8” smaller and few ounces lighter, would probably work just fine. Mini Air Compressor
Nifty device that takes maxi air and squeezes it down into a mini condition. The device is roughly 6-1/2"" long x 6" tall x 4" wide. It has a 10 ft. cord that plugs into an auto lighter socket: i.e. it runs on 12VDC @ 10 amps. Air output is via a 12" hose with a variety of valve adapters for tires, soccer balls, rubber rafts, and just dusting off the environment. Complete with a 0-250 psi gauge. Which should be plenty of pressure to explode a weak bike tire or flimsy beach ball, so please be careful!

Fabricate A Fountain
Create your own fontana, just like Bernini. Yours might be a tad smaller, but it's the effort that counts. You'll get a kit that includes a 3" tall 6 VDC submersible pump, a power cord with wall adapter and in-line switch, a 2-part resin rock-like pump cover (approx 5" dia x 4-1/8" tall), and a gasketed bushing for the power cord. Pump has a flow control, and includes instructions. You add a vessel, and maybe carve a nice marble statue of Poseidon.

Oscillator Alert!
For all of life's back and forths or up and downs, like those creepy bat wings in our favorite Halloween displays. This new gear motor was made for the Saturn people, to run a rear wiper assembly, but now it can oscillate in your window display, kinetic sculpture, robot or clever invention. Operates on 12VDC at 1.5A (no load). Stall current is 7A. Has a 3-pin power connector (blue=pos, brown=ground, and ignore the black). The output shaft is 1-3/4" long OA x 6mm dia, and partially threaded. Oscillates approx 2 times per second. The whole magilla measures 6-1/2" x 6-3/4" x 5-1/8".
