Mini Moto
Manny Moto's kid brother? Not at this price. This little hobby motor runs on 1-1/2 to 3VDC and draws approx 400mA while spinning between 700 and 1400 rpm. Hobby size, too: 1-1/8" x 3/4" with a 5/16" long shaft. Dandy for solar-power experiments, our motor maven says.

Keeps Going & Going & Going…
This little battery-powered gear motor from Hankscraft is just screaming to be in a countertop display or a science fair. (It's great for a solar project!) Operates on 1.5 VDC and draws 40MA. Up to one month continuous motion on a single "D" battery. Runs 4 rpm clockwise, but can be reversed. The motor is attached directly to a "D" battery holder and the whole shebang stands 4-3/4" tall x 1-3/4" dia. The 3/4" x 1/8" dia flattened shaft has a 1/16" bore 1/8" from the end. Comes with mounting holes on stand-offs at the top of the motor, and a plastic 1-1/2" dia turntable that mates with the shaft.

Tough Gear Motor
Small but durable. Measures 2-7/16" long x 1-5/16" dia. and has a 3/16" x 3/8" long flattened offset shaft. Runs between 6-12 VDC. At 12 VDC, it spins 7 rpm and draws 90mA with a 500mA stall current. Gearbox ratio is approx 400:1. Has (3) 3/32" mounting holes on the shaft face. Reversible.

Oscillator Alert!
For all of life's back and forths or up and downs, like those creepy bat wings in our favorite Halloween displays. This new gear motor was made for the Saturn people, to run a rear wiper assembly, but now it can oscillate in your window display, kinetic sculpture, robot or clever invention. Operates on 12VDC at 1.5A (no load). Stall current is 7A. Has a 3-pin power connector (blue=pos, brown=ground, and ignore the black). The output shaft is 1-3/4" long OA x 6mm dia, and partially threaded. Oscillates approx 2 times per second. The whole magilla measures 6-1/2" x 6-3/4" x 5-1/8".

Hobby Motors
You'll get two-fer-cheap. This permanent-magnet DC motor from Molon operates from 6-12VDC, max efficiency at 12VDC, 11,100 rpm at 1.40A. Measures 1-1/2" long x 1-1/16" dia with a 3/8" long x 3/8" dia striated shaft. Has (2) mounting holes on the face and power tabs on the back. Molon model numbers CMO-1237 and FRS-385S-2358N

Gear Motor
Open, close or move whatever with this mighty little 3-12VDC 4RPM gear motor designed to operate a vent in a Chrysler product. Draws just 15mA no-load and stalls at 200mA. Output is via a 1/2" dia x 1/2" long sprocketed shaft. The case measures a diminutive 4-1/8" x 3-1/4" x 1" thick with (3) arms with 1/4" mounting holes. No leads, but the gearbox pops open to get into it and there are (2) terminal clips that hit the motor.

Up Antenna, Scottie!
It's a power antenna made for a car, but nothing says fun like figuring out what else it could do. Has a 12VDC motor and gear-train that draws 800mA. The 5-draw antenna is 41" when extended, but contracts to fit completely into the 14-1/2" x 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" overall unit. Comes with 57" coax cable, a splitter box, matching transformer, (5) different gaskets for trunk/fender mounting, and (3) leads for easy connection.

Attention robotics boffins: Here's a nice, powerful 12-24VDC Mabuchi brush motor with a gearbox and pulley attached. At its nominal 24DC, it spins 12rpm, draws 50mA no load, and stalls a 750mA. Has a 3/4" long x 5/16" flattened shaft with a 4-5/8" dia x 5/16" wide (3/16" ID) single-sheave pulley attached, with a matching O-ring. The gearbox measures 2-3/4" x 3" x 9-1/16". The motor measures 1-1/16"dia x 1-5/8" long and comes with 7" leads and a 2-pin Molex connector.

Power Window Guts
All you add is the car. Nice new 12VDC gear motor made to lift the window on a Saturn before, well, you know. Motor (without arm) is 6” x 3-1/5”, and draws 2.6A, no load, 10A at stall. It’s attached to, but easily removable from, a toothed arm that’s 15” long, swings approx 95°, with a fiberglass roller wheel on the end. Takes approx (4) seconds to make a full swing with no load. Has a 14” long wiring harness with a quick-disconnect male terminal, and (4) mounting holes on the frame. We think this is for the left door, but does it matter, since you’re not going to build the car around it anyway? It will still be handy for lifting or opening windows or anything else, like coffin lids, animatronic arms, or small doors.

Torquey Motor
Cranks out 300-400 inch-pounds of torque, in fact. It's a 12VDC 3.5A (no load) 24 rpm gear motor made to roll out camper units. Includes a brake lever in a rubber boot. The unit measures 9-3/8" x 4-7/8" x 9" overall, with a 2-1/2" dia motor and a main output shaft 3/4" dia x 3/4" long with 1/4" bores opposite each other approx halfway down the shaft. A quartet of 3/16"-14 thread mounting holes surround the shaft, 15" leads. We're thinking home-made winch, small boat-trailer, BBQ crank, monster robotics or kinetic sculpture apps. Weighs 11 lbs.
