One Magnificent Motor
The motorheads in the back room are beside themselves, positively gushing about this new, but tested, DC gear motor. Made for a camper roll-out, it operates from 6-12VDC with a nominal voltage at 12VDC. Output is 40rpm from the main 3/4" x 3/4" shaft (with a hole in the center) and 280rpm from a secondary, double-sided, 3/8" threaded shaft with a nut. The overall size is 3-1/4" dia x 9-1/2" long main body with a 9-1/4" x 4-3/4" gear box. Fantastic torque at 400 in/lbs, and reversible. Over 30A stall current. Permanent magnet, intermittent duty, with a electric brake under a rubber boot. And the price is right, since these sell for north of $300 each, new.

Tough Gear Motor
Small but durable. Measures 1-1/2" long (including the terminals) x 1-1/16" dia, with a removable, 1-1/4" dia x 1-1/8" long gearbox and 3/16" x 3/8" long flattened offset shaft. Runs between 6-12 VDC. At 12 VDC, it spins 7 rpm and draws 90mA. Gearbox ratio is approx 400:1. Has (3) 3/32" mounting holes on the shaft face. Reversible.

Small Is Beautiful
And this little 6-12VDC new gear motor is a stunner. Made for a telescope drive, it draws approx 100mA and spins approx 5 rpm at 12VDC. Has a 5/16" dia, 16-tooth sprocket on a 5/8" long shaft and is 2-7/16" x 1-7/8" x 2-5/8" OA. The gearbox ratio is approx 100:1. Has a short (3") 2-pin jumper for power and the stall current at 12VDC is 2A.

Tough Guy Motor
With a switch. They made this strong little reversible DC motor (stall current at 12VDC is a whopping 15A) for an auto vacuum cleaner, which is why it's wired to a 15-foot cord with a cigarette-lighter adapter. Operates from 6-12VDC with max performance at 12VDC, 10,000 rpm at 2A. Measures approx 2-3/4" long x 1-7/8" dia with a removable plastic housing, plus a 3/16" x 1-1/4" threaded shaft with a 3/16-32 thread for the last 5/16". Has a hard-wired thermister between the momentary switch and motor.

Hobby Motors
Pay yer money and take yer pick. Both are reversible, permanent-magnet, 6-12VDC motors. The Johnson version (Johnson #31942) is 1-1/4" long x 1-1/8" dia with a 1-1/16" long x 3/32" dia shaft, and a pair of 1/8" quick-disconnect tabs on the back. It operates with max efficiency at 12V, 5484 rpm and drawing .322A. Has .527 oz/in of torque. Draws approx 100mA no load. Has (2) 1/16" mounting holes on the face. The Molon is at max efficiency at 12VDC, 11,100 rpm at 1.40A. Measures 1-1/2" long x 1-1/16" dia with a 3/8" long x 3/8" dia striated shaft. Has (2) mounting holes on the face and power tabs on the back.

Brand new (made for a kiddy car ride with a big gear-box), this reversible 6-12VDC Johnson motor (#141292) draws 1.4A and spins 10,000 rpms at 12VDC. Measures 2-1/2" long x 1-1/2" dia with a 1/8" dia x 3/8" long striated shaft. Has (2) tabs on the back for hook-up and (2) mounting holes on the face.

Excellent Small Motor Skills
From Germany's Faulhaber, this 12VDC precision motor draws only 75mA no load, and has 1.9 in/oz of torque. Spins 8100 rpm. The motor measures 7/8" dia x 1-5/8" long with a 3/8" long x 1/16" dia shaft out the back and an 18-tooth, 5/16" dia sprocket on the front. There are bearings on both ends of the shaft. It's inside a 1-3/16" plastic frame the length of the motor with (4) 3/32" dia mounting holes. Works well from 3-12VDC, our motor-minded technician says, plus it's "OK for short term use up to 24VDC, and makes a pretty nice little generator, too." Has (2) 3-1/2" leads.

Molon Motor
Attn: Science project fans. This reversible, permanent-magnet DC motor from Molon (part #232B12V0) operates well from 6-12VDC. Max efficiency at 12VDC, draws .11A at 3900 rpm, and has .278 oz/in torque. Measures 1-3/16" long x 1.25" dia with 5/16" long x 1/16" dia striated shaft. Has (2) mounting holes on the face and (2) 1/4" terminals on the back. Draws 480mA. Works nicely as a generator for science projects, putting out 3V with a light spin of the shaft. Made in the USA.

Gear Motor
Open, close or move whatever with this mighty little 3-12VDC 4RPM gear motor designed to operate a vent in a Chrysler product. Draws just 15mA no-load and stalls at 200mA. Output is via a 1/2" dia x 1/2" long sprocketed shaft. The case measures a diminutive 4-1/8" x 3-1/4" x 1" thick with (3) arms with 1/4" mounting holes. No leads, but the gearbox pops open to get into it and there are (2) terminal clips that hit the motor.

Honey Of A Swiss Motor
The motorheads out back are loving this reversible, Swiss-made brushed DC motor, rated at 6VDC, 4200rpm at 84mA. Load current is 2.6A. Measures 1-3/4" long x 1" dia with a 7/16" long x 3mm (.118") dia flattened shaft, and has 1-1/4" leads, Alnico magnets, and precious-metal brushes. Great torque for a motor that isn't geared.
