Slowly I Turned...
Feel the need to have something rotate from the ceiling? These gear motors were made to turn a mirrored ball, but would be just as happy turning a globe, mobile, raincoat, rubber chicken or anything else that needs rotating. The light-duty smaller DC motor runs on (1) "D" battery that you add, spins at 2-1/2 rpm, and works with anything that weighs under 6 lbs. The off-white plastic housing measures 5" long x 1-9/16" dia with a 5/16" dia cup hook on the business end and a removable triangular mounting hook at the ceiling end. The larger 1 rpm, 120VAC 3W motor is inside a 3-3/16" dia x 1-9/16" housing with a 4-3/8" dia mounting plate. Has a 1/4" dia x 5/8" shaft with (2) 1/8" bores. Max load is 11 lbs. Lots of Halloween, craft, diorama, robotics and science-fair applications.

Brand new (made for a kiddy car ride with a big gear-box), this reversible 6-12VDC Johnson motor (#141292) draws 1.4A and spins 10,000 rpms at 12VDC. Measures 2-1/2" long x 1-1/2" dia with a 1/8" dia x 3/8" long striated shaft. Has (2) tabs on the back for hook-up and (2) mounting holes on the face.

Excellent Small Motor Skills
From Germany's Faulhaber, this 12VDC precision motor draws only 75mA no load, and has 1.9 in/oz of torque. Spins 8100 rpm. The motor measures 7/8" dia x 1-5/8" long with a 3/8" long x 1/16" dia shaft out the back and an 18-tooth, 5/16" dia sprocket on the front. There are bearings on both ends of the shaft. It's inside a 1-3/16" plastic frame the length of the motor with (4) 3/32" dia mounting holes. Works well from 3-12VDC, our motor-minded technician says, plus it's "OK for short term use up to 24VDC, and makes a pretty nice little generator, too." Has (2) 3-1/2" leads.

Johnson Motor
This reversible DC Johnson motor (Johnson #34513) operates from 12-24VDC with a max efficiency of 24VDC, 3057 rpm, and .14 amps. Measures 1-3/16" dia x 1-3/16" long with (2) hook-up tabs on the back and a 3/32" x 5/16" long slotted shaft. Has (2) mounting holes on the face. Works great as a small generator, output 2.5-3 V. Draws 30mA no load, and spins about 1200 rpm at 12VDC.

Molon Motor
Attn: Science project fans. This reversible, permanent-magnet DC motor from Molon (part #232B12V0) operates well from 6-12VDC. Max efficiency at 12VDC, draws .11A at 3900 rpm, and has .278 oz/in torque. Measures 1-3/16" long x 1.25" dia with 5/16" long x 1/16" dia striated shaft. Has (2) mounting holes on the face and (2) 1/4" terminals on the back. Draws 480mA. Works nicely as a generator for science projects, putting out 3V with a light spin of the shaft. Made in the USA.

Long, Tall Squirrel Cage Fan
With endless non-fan uses. We just don't know what they are, exactly. Would make a good paddle-boat wheel, or a mighty nice tower for your model of a 23rd-century galactic city, or even a cage for a tiny, tiny squirrel. It's aluminum, it's missing its motor and it measures 12" long x 2-3/8" dia with a 1/2" bore at one end and a 1/8" dia x 5/16" nipple at the other. And it's pretty-all shiny with good lines.

Push-N-Pump
Convert large water jugs into dispensers. This manual bellows-type water pump has an 18" (in two 9" pieces) x 7/16" ID inlet tube, a 5-1/2" long bent spigot, and comes with a small bottle brush for cleaning. The bottom of the pump fits many water jugs, with a split-flange coupling that's approx 2-3/8 ID and tightens down for a near-airtight fit. The unit is 4-3/4" dia x 9-1/2" tall OA in gray and blue plastic.

Semi-Round Fan
Well, of course the fan's round, but the housing is flattened on both sides. It's a quiet giant from Comair-Rotran: 12VDC, draws 2.6A, measures 6-3/4" x 5-7/8" x 2" thick, and is rated at 235cfm. Has (4) 3/16" dia mounting holes, and (3) 12" leads (the blue stripe is for the tach) with Molex connectors. Spins approx 3400 rpm. UL.

Small Johnson
But "pretty strong," the motor mavens say. This little 12-24VDC motor from Johnson spins between 5 and 10K rpms. At 12VDC it draws 160mA no load, at 24VDC it draws 180mA no load. Measures 2-1/4" long x 1-3/8" dia with a 1/8" dia x 5/16" shaft.

Gear Motor
Open, close or move whatever with this mighty little 3-12VDC 4RPM gear motor designed to operate a vent in a Chrysler product. Draws just 15mA no-load and stalls at 200mA. Output is via a 1/2" dia x 1/2" long sprocketed shaft. The case measures a diminutive 4-1/8" x 3-1/4" x 1" thick with (3) arms with 1/4" mounting holes. No leads, but the gearbox pops open to get into it and there are (2) terminal clips that hit the motor.
