Swivel And Spin
This good-sized stem caster with a 4" dia x 1" thick solid rubber wheel, is on a 1-1/2" x 7/16" swivel stem with a retaining clip and a 3/8" dia axle. Caster will add 4-1/2" in height when mounted. Will support approx 150 lb each.

Lazy Scott Bearings
Never seemed fair to nail the "lazy" tag so permanently on the "Susans" but that probably has no "bearing" on the issue. Also called turntable bearings, they are the square, flat ball bearing devices YOU bolt between two flat objects to achieve rotation. Like that spinning center section of a Chinese restaurant table. We had these in surplus once and they were quite popular. To our chagrin, we discovered they could be bought commercially for the same price. So we did. The 4" version is rated for a 300lb. load, the 6" for 500lbs., and the 12" (round) for 1000lbs.

Gear Up

Or gear down-for the science fair or for any number of hobby projects. This hard-to-find set of (3) combination spur/beveled gears-for when you want gears set either straight or at 90° to one another-also has one small spur gear, plus three bushings. All in red, green, or blue plastic (we'll pick). The combo-beveled gears are 1-5/8", 1-1/4" and 27/32" dia with 3/16" bores to accept the bushings, which are 3/16" OD, 3/32" ID. The straight gear is 17/32" dia with a 1/16" half-bore. All are 24 pitch.

Wire Wheels
Well, spoked anyway, but dashingly semi-MG-ish. We're thinking they're just right for a garden cart. They measure 16" dia x 1-5/8" thick with a 1-1/4" dia x 3" axle and 1/2" ID bearings, (16) non-adjustable spokes and a solid rubber, grooved tire. The wheel itself is polished aluminum. A real beauty!

Nifty Plastic Gear Set
Made as a repair kit for Xerox® drive motors (kit part #600K24560), these (3) white plastic gears are crying out for a home in someone's robotics lab. The largest is 1-1/2" thick OA with an 8mm bore. The gear is 1-7/8" dia with 46 teeth/24 pitch, the spindle is 1-1/16" dia with 25 teeth/24 pitch. The middle one is 3/4" thick OA with a 6mm bore. That gear is 1-5/8" dia with 74 teeth/48 pitch, the spindle is 11/16" dia with 15 teeth/24 pitch. The smallest is 1-5/16" thick OA with a 6mm bore. The gear is 1-1/4" dia with 38 teeth/32 pitch, the spindle is 7/8" dia with 21 teeth/24 pitch.

Our sturdy locking swivel-plate caster has a 5" dia x 1-1/4" thick wheel, a 3/8" thick axle, 3-5/8" x 2-7/8" steel plate with slotted 5/16" mounting holes. A foot-operated clutch locks the wheel as well as the swivel. Good for approx a 300-lb load.

Make your own custom wheelbarrow, or any number of other wheeled vehicles, with our 13" dia x 3-3/4" wide, 2-ply wheel/tire combination. The 1-1/2" dia axle sleeve has 5/8" ID bearings that extend 2-3/4" on each side. Tire size is 4.00-6 SRI/WB-2, with a 30psi maximum pressure.

Easy Movin'
Slide your large furniture items (or relatives) along with one hand when they're on wheels. Our each is a pair of very narrow "dollies" a minimum of 18" long, each with (4) sets of double 1-1/4" dia black-plastic wheels at each end. They extend to approx 27" long, although our crack home-appliance testing division suggests stopping an inch or two short of that, or adding a second wing nut to each one. Between the wheels, the metal brackets are 1" wide x 1/16" thick, and the weight-bearing wheel trucks have 3" square, rubber-padded surfaces. No swivel action, so they only pull back and forth. We figure the pair is plenty strong to move a few hundred pounds.
