Tilt & Swivel Mounts
Our each is a pair of Monster-brand nearly-universal-joint mounts for speakers, but adaptable for lots of other uses. Steel and forged aluminum, with white-enamel finish, they swivel 360°, tilt up to 210° and come with mounting hardware, bolts, mollies, and straps. They’re approx 3-3/8” long on a 2” x 3” plate and hold up to 8 lbs each, and the speaker/whatever-holding end is tapped to take a 7/16”-14 bolt. Made for use with Bose® Acoustimass, Lifestyle, or Outdoor speakers

Hole Liner
Heyco #SB-625-500 hard black plastic grommet. Split down the side, it is 11/16" OD, 1/2" ID to fit a 5/8" dia hole. It is 17/32" long OA with a small flange at one end, and a snap positioned 9/32" back on the shaft. Sounds about right for a 1/4" thick panel to us.

Thank goodness! You wouldn't know what to do with this gearshift knob if the package didn't say "Remove old knob and press new knob on shaft." You might otherwise have taken the plastic, black-vinyl-covered knob (it's 2" long, 1-3/8" dia at the closed end, mounts on a 3/8" dia shaft) and used it as a model wheel, or a birthday candle holder, or a fountain pen ink dispenser. The package also says it's intended for a GM column-mount gear shift.

Vegetable Hook
Large plastic hook, pointed on one end, blunt on the other. We have no idea what it was made for. Some suggest a meat hook in a pet food factory, which the shape supports. But the red or white plastic suggests not. Maybe it is for veggies? A loyal reader is convinced that it goes over a door and bananas are hung from it. Sounds good to us. The blunt end is shaped to hang over a square beam, 1-1/4" or so thick. The other pointy end, when the hook is so hung, will be 3" from the beam top, and will point out 3" and up @ about 15°. The whole is made of 3/8" dia plastic rod. You figure out what to do with it.

Hang It All
Do you park you car outside because there’s no room in the garage? Clean up the clutter with the A.S.&S. wall hangers collection. All the bits we list here are designed to work with a horizontally mounted steel channel, kind of like a steel fence post, which we don’t have. The channels should be easy to find in the local hardware outlet. Start out with steel shelf brackets with 9–1/2” long arms. Pick up the double hook with (2) 4” long S-hooks that have a 4” long flat area behind he “S” and are 3” apart. They can be used with the flat area one one side of a channel and the hooks on the other if the channel is mounted away from the wall. Or adapt them to flush mounted channels. That was easy! And the cleanup should last for a week or two! No sweat.
