The Mother Of All Fresnel Lenses
It came from either outer space, or a projection TV. Our largest Fresnel lens measures 49-1/8" x 37-1/8" x 1/16" thick, with a 42" focal length. Build your own lighthouse or projection TV, teach optical properties to students, or just turn your 21-inch model into one with a tavern-size picture. Held in the sun, the lens will concentrate rays enough to cook eggs or torch lumber. And, under adult supervision in the parking lot, employees of a certain un-named scientific and surplus purveyor actually melted pennies in seconds. Extremely cool and done strictly, we assure you, to determine the lens's focal length. Do not, we shouldn't have to remind you, store this puppy in direct sunlight. Or let the underage or under-mature sneak it into the sunlight.

DCX Lens
This nice handful of plastic lenses is just the ticket for a primary-school teacher who needs unbreakable samples, and who wouldn't mind having a few interesting pieces left for craft projects. Each DCX lens is 20mm dia, 34.5mm focal length. Not individually wrapped, so a few may have small surface scratches.

World's Best Lens Cleaner
Rexton lens and optical surface cleaner cleans all optical surfaces: lenses, mirrors, prisms, windows, slides and leaves no haze. It cleans plastic or glass camera lenses, coated or uncoated. We have given some to our telescope supplier, who is an expert in such matters, and he says it is the best he has ever seen. You can even clean painted and metal surfaces. Comes in an 8 oz squeeze bottle with a flip up squirter. Absolutely the last word in cleaning for optics.

Projection Lenses
The following is a partial listing of the projection type lens assemblies the we currently have on hand. Quantities may vary from just a few pieces to a thousand or more. If there is a particular lens that might fulfill a production requirement, we would be pleased to provide information on total availability and larger quantity pricing. All of these lenses are in excellent condition, although few may have cosmetic defects in the barrels or mounts. We have intentionally kept the prices quite low in relation to OEM costs to enable small quantity users to experiment with them.

Prince Plastic
Sure, when it comes to optical precision, glass is king. But in other categories (price!), plastic is definitely heir to the throne. If you're not looking for precision, but just for some funky lenses for your art project, model or for messing around with light, these 20mm dia PCV lenses will work royally. 6.6mm thick, clear plastic with a -60mm focal length. With (2) 1/8" dia mounting nubs on the side; they should file right off if you don't like them. So let the bluebloods waste their bread on glass; you've got plastic.

They may be a little dirty, but that's a small price to pay for a glass achromatic lens at this small price. Small in size but a big value at 14mm dia. x 28mm focal length.

Placebo Lens
Please don't pop these little glass DCX beauties in your mouth. Sure, they're shaped like zinc tablets or miniature communion wafers - thin, 14mm dia - but they'll do you no good inside; probably even cause you harm. Instead, utilize their 48.3mm focal lengths for all classroom projects, or combine these with other lenses to build binoculars, magnifiers, microscopes and telescopes.

For the Auteur
8 millimeter film - the choice of really hip film makers. If this is you, you'll need the proper lens to project it. This Mansfield Cinepar 8mm projection lens may be just the ticket. 2-7/16" long x 1" dia OA, it has a 3/4" focal length, a 7/8" dia barrel, and a 5/16" dia coated lens. The body is aluminum, the barrel has a rough thread. Quite nice indeed!

Protective Lens
One of those clear plastic jobs that goes over an automotive light or some such. It provides a bit of focusing to strengthen the beam and some protection, but isn't really an optical element. This one is 2-7/8" sq. x 9/16" thick. Actually, the plastic is only about 1/8" thick, but there is a rim to the rear which gives it overall depth. Good protection for outdoor lights. Could be set in the outhouse door to admit distorted light. Or flip it over and serve nuts in it.
