Glasnost Pays Off
No one beats the Russians when it comes to inexpensive, high quality lab equipment. The scope comes with 0.6x, 1x, 2x, 4x, and 7x objectives plus pairs of 14x and 8x eyepieces, all with high quality achromatic lenses. Furthermore, it’s as loaded with extras as a Lexus off the lot: eye guards, arm rests, a scale reticle built into the 8x eyepiece and a grid reticle, a 14.5” adjustable stand to accommodate samples of all sizes. Also comes with a 6vac/20w illuminator with adjustable brightness, light condenser, and light filter for oblique/transmitted light and a substage reflector with a mirrored side and a diffusive white second side for transparent/translucent specimens.

The Paragon
...is an inspection and dissection binocular microscope. The manufacturer says it's "perfect for industrial, agricultural, biological and educational uses." We heartily concur, which is why we're stocking this shiny new non-surplus item. "The Paragon" is 15" high, sturdy, easy to use, and has an acid and reagent resistant finish. At 10X and 30X magnification it's not for the weensiest microbes, of course, but if your work is on the scale of distinguishing weevil species, this is what you want. The 95mm dia stage plate reverses white to black for contrast, and the rack and pinion pole mount lets you view samples up to 17 cm in height. The binocular head is inclined for comfortable viewing, rotates 360°, Wide field 10X eyepieces adjust to 55 -75mm interpupillary distance. 1X and 3X objectives are turret-mounted. With the 1X objective, you get a 19mm field of view, with the 3X, a 9.5mm field. In either case the working distance is 95mm. Don't do entomology without it.

The 3X-50X microscope comes with 0.3X, 0.5X, 1.0X, 2.0X and 3.3X objectives, and binocular eyepieces in 14x and 8x wide field and an 8X measuring eyepiece, all with high quality achromatic lenses. Mono To Bino
Convert your older, monocular microscope to a binocular style with this 45° replacement head. (Fits most standard microscopes with 39 mm barrels.) It has an adjustable interpupilary distance. Its barrels accept 23 mm eyepieces (not included), one of which can be focused. It has a single objective, and is 8-1/4" long x 4-5/8" at its widest. If you're handy, you can even convert it into a binocular head for a telescope! Excellent quality.
