Handy Pocket Magnifier
This little 5X, 3/4" dia glass magnifier for home, business or hobby use slides into its own 2" x 1-3/8" x 3/4" black case. Slide the magnifier out all the way and it automatically turns on the white LED light, just like your fridge, except it's not cold. (Don't want the light? Just pull it out part-way.) Runs on (3) button-cell batteries, included and replaceable.

You bought one of our excellent microscopes - now you need interesting, good-quality slides. You need our Microscope Accessory Kit. The kit includes The World of the Microscope, a well-illustrated 48-page book that explains the instrument and how to use it. You get supplies to create your own slides, including a box of (72) standard glass slides, about 1" x 3", with ground edges; tweezers with which to position your specimens; a 4" glass dropper with a rubber bulb from which to drop small amounts of liquid onto the specimens; and (100) square pieces of #1 thickness cover glass to place over them. A great way to get focused.

The guts group has human stomach, heart and blood, plus brain and kidney cells from a small mammal. For ages nine and up.

Cardboard Binoculars
Cardboard binoculars are for observing paper lions. (Mahogany binoculars are for watching wooden performances, but we don't sell those.) These binoculars fold very nearly flat to 3" x 4" and magnify 3X through acrylic lenses. Flex them when they're unfolded and the focus adjusts somewhat. They're really made and priced for kids, are much better than they have any right to be, and can even be taken apart and used in a science fair telescope! Bonus: We'd keep some in the briefcase and glove box, we would.

A Sherlock Holmes-type magnifying glass is good, but this is better. It frees your hands and throws light on the subject! This 120-volt magnifying desk lamp has a heavy 7-3/8" x 5-1/2" x 2" base with a power switch, standard lamp cord, and 11" gooseneck ending in a 5-1/4" dia shade. Under the shade is a circular fluorescent bulb and a 3-3/8" dia lens with a flip-back cover. The box says the lens is 5X, we think it's closer to 2X. Either way, it's a major improvement if you need help to examine scientific specimens, to inspect stamps or jewelry, or just to read. And we won't even talk about how your nail care is going to improve after you see your cuticles under this thing!

Because we all need bigger pockets! Sorry. Actually, it's a lighted magnifier made especially to carry in your pocket in that it's slightly curved, because you are. Cost $95 before we got it, but we're offering it at a low, low price because you might have some non-trinoc photo use for it. Comes equipped with a T-mount and a "T-mount to Pentax mount" adapter. Measures 4" long x 1-3/4" dia in a black aluminum tube with a 3/8"-24 internal thread and a 1/8"-30 thread near the lenses, which are accessible with a spanner wrench. Made in Russia.
