Holy Gadolinium, Batman, who discovered this Gd element? We're not sure, but he's close to our hearts, since Gd is a magnetic metal of the rare-earth group, and you know how we love rare earth magnets. This excellent 38-1/2" x 26-3/4" poster of the Periodic Table lists the elemental information about Gd and 117 other elements, and includes mini-biographies of (7) scientists. The full-color poster is not laminated, but is a good quality coated paper, and a fascinating addition to any classroom.

Another teach-'em-while-they-eat product: clever laminated placemats that display the flags of (29) European or (28) North/South/Central American countries. Rub the heat-sensitive bar under each flag and the country, capital and currency are revealed (and fade again in a minute or two). Yes, the kiddles can draw on them with crayons or dry-erase markers, and no, they don't have to be used to eat from, they could just be teaching aids. Mats measure 13-1/2" x 9-5/8".

Rarely have we seen such boring teaching aids. Aides yes, but not aids. 4" Sq. cards. The red ones have lines dividing them into 10ths, with from one to nine of the lined off bars shaded. The green ones have lines in both directions, hence are divided into 100ths. From 5 to 95 of the resulting squares are shaded, always in multiples of 5. On the yellow, the 100 squares of the green cards are each sub divided into 10 giving 1000 (yawn) parts to the whole. From 25 to 975 parts are shaded, in multiples of 25. (Snzz) If this how to teach decimals, its no wonder the kids don't learn. Turn the cards over and use the blank sides for craft projects. You get a total of (76) cards, two of each possible red, one of each possible green and yellow. The above should allow you to compute how many of each color you get.

Our only hope to defeat life's burgeoning germs is to teach the next generation how to outwit them, and the best way to do that is teaching aseptic techniques and testing with UV-reactive simulated germ powder or cream (better to use simulated germs than a hit-or-miss surface). Start with our Germspotter Kit, a 2-fluid-oz bottle of the UV-reactive Glo Germ™ cream that comes with its own little UV light, complete with 2 button-cell batteries and an instruction sheet. Or grab our larger 1.9 oz net weight bottle of UV-reactive Glo Germ™ powder for teaching/testing. No UV light? Our dual-function UV-LED flashlight is 5-1/4" long, and waterproof, with (10) superbright white LEDS and (5) ultraviolet LEDs, and a shielded glow-in-the-dark pushbutton switch. In black anodized aluminum, it comes with (3) "AAA" batteries, a wrist strap and a black nylon case. Set the scene and set them loose to hunt "germs."
