Porcelain mortars and pestles. Great heavy duty mortars, with sides that are easily 5/16" thick on the smaller ones, and up to 1/2" on the larger. The mortars are glazed outside, but rough inside, the better to grind, and have a pouring lip. The business ends of the pestles are unglazed, while the shafts are glazed. Very functional, very good looking!! So grind your own spices or lab concoctions as you prefer. You get a mortar and pestle as a single order.

It's made for holding a microscope, but it's a fine large carrying/storage case with endless possibilities. In navy nylon with grey straps, it's 18" tall x 11-1/2" wide x 8" deep with (4) small feet on the bottom so it stands upright. The straps extend beyond the top to serve as handles. The whole case is foam-padded, with a couple of hook-and-loop straps for securing whatever is inside, (2) elastic pockets in the lid for accessories, and a zip closure around (3) sides. Fits most microscopes, but would hold any number of things, from electronics to dinner-to-go for six, and would be a very nice way to organize assorted stuff in the trunk or back of an SUV.

What a deal on a short white lab coat with a button-front, (2) patch pockets at the waist, and (1) breast pocket. The 65% poly/35% cotton jacket is a man's Large. And if your name is Estrostep® and your title is norethindrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol tablets--Estrophasic" Regimen, you're going to want to buy the whole shipment. Because that's what is embroidered in purple on the breast pocket. But even if your name is Wayne, and the second line should read Monkey Cage Maintenance, it's still a deal.

We have obtained a large number of real natural corks, mostly surplus with a few fill-ins bought commercially. They range across the popular sizes used in science labs to seal vessels (drill your own holes for glass tubing, etc) and to use as floats. Or just use them to seal bottles that don't have closures or cry out for a decorative seal.

Getting tired of buying them and trimming them and losing them? Get rid of wicks altogether with this nifty little alcohol burner with a copper capillary tube in place of a cotton wick. Burns 90ml of denatured alcohol and comes with a heat shield (packed inside the reservoir) and a burner cap. Don't forget to remove the little rubber plug - it's there to cover the holes in the copper tube when not in use. And this is lab equipment, so resist the temptation to use it under a chafing dish; initially, it flares up a tad more than is good for Swedish meatballs.
