Metric Triple Beam Balance
Easy to use, and with 0.1 gram sensitivity the O'haus triple beam balance is perfect for measuring chemicals, biological specimens or the rutabaga for tonight's supper. Parallax free, the balance is damped by a pair of alnico magnets in the end post for friction free use. The three notched and tiered beams (100-500 grams, 10-100 grams, 0-10 grams) have center reading sliding poises. 610 gram capacity (standard) can be increased to 2610 grams by the use of attachment weights, available as an accessory. (Accessory weight kit includes (1)-500 gram and (2)-1000 gram weights.) Base is contoured to store weights and the balance is equipped to accept specific gravity Rod and Clamp. Stainless steel 6" dia. platform. 18" x 6" x 6".

Buy this Meade 8200 for a science student, or for an inquisitive kid. It’s a starter microscope, but it’s definitely not a toy. The three high-quality, turret-mounted objective lenses (4X, 10X and 40X) combined with the 10X eyepiece provide magnifications of 40X, 100X and 400X. It has a precise, stage-mounted rack-and-pinion focuser, a 6-aperture rotary diaphragm for light control, 5 prepared slides and 5 blank ones, just to get you started. It comes with a mirror to reflect ambient lighting, but you can kick up the light level by adding this small LED lamp with an 8" long gooseneck and (14) bright white LEDs. The lamp comes with (3) "AAA" batteries, but it never hurts to have fresh ones at hand.

Litmus Paper
Chemically treated paper strips to test for acid or base (alkaline) solutions. Use the blue for acids, the red for bases. The more sophisticated pH test paper strip indicates pH from 1 (bright red) to 14 (dark brown). Values in between can be read by comparing with a color chart that comes with the strips. All have (100) strips of test paper per vial.

Plastic Graduates
The Graduate devotee knows the importance of plastic. To fill the need we offer these fine cylinders of the hard milky white polypropylene persuasion, to help you measure out your chemicals. With a large bases for stability and spouts for pouring, they are just like their glass cousins, except these are cheaper and not heat-resistant (each is marked 20° C ?!). The graduation increments and total volume are shown as increment/total in milliliters.

The Paragon
...is an inspection and dissection binocular microscope. The manufacturer says it's "perfect for industrial, agricultural, biological and educational uses." We heartily concur, which is why we're stocking this shiny new non-surplus item. "The Paragon" is 15" high, sturdy, easy to use, and has an acid and reagent resistant finish. At 10X and 30X magnification it's not for the weensiest microbes, of course, but if your work is on the scale of distinguishing weevil species, this is what you want. The 95mm dia stage plate reverses white to black for contrast, and the rack and pinion pole mount lets you view samples up to 17 cm in height. The binocular head is inclined for comfortable viewing, rotates 360°, Wide field 10X eyepieces adjust to 55 -75mm interpupillary distance. 1X and 3X objectives are turret-mounted. With the 1X objective, you get a 19mm field of view, with the 3X, a 9.5mm field. In either case the working distance is 95mm. Don't do entomology without it.

Our fashion buyers are just back from the shows in Milan with these brand new, nice quality, 80% poly/20% cotton lab coats. These are Euro-sizes, which generally (and generously) match chest circumference. The 34 has 33" sleeves; the 42 has 34-1/2" sleeves, and the 48 has 36". All are about 39" long, which means fingertip length or mid-thigh, depending on how long you are. Think men's small, large and XL. They're all five-button, with one breast pocket and two large side pockets and have no name or embroidery added.
