An Atomic Clock, Eh?
Recognize this digital atomic clock? You must be hanging around hospitals and other government institutions up in Canada, because this came from their actual supplier. Accurate to a fault and visible across a very large room, this giant digital clock refreshes and resets the exact time each night and is 16-1/2" wide x 10-1/2" tall x just 1-3/4" thick, with a clean, brushed-aluminum-look plastic frame. Displays time (digital LCD h/m/s, with h/m being 4" tall), time zone (select any of 6 North American zones), indoor temperature, day and date. It has 12- or 24-hour settings, choice of C or F temps, and mounts on a wall or sits on a built-in stand. Runs on (3) "C" batteries that come with it.

We don't like to brag, but it's tough not to in a case like this. This is a wonderful pen-shaped laser pointer, 5-1/4" long, flat black or silver with gold pocket clip and head. It throws a red point a loong way (we've thrown it two city blocks at night, and it would've gone farther, but buildings got in the way). And what are we so proud of? We've seen a very similar item-not identical, mind you, but essentially the same-in one of those glossy, toys-for-grown-men catalogs. Their price? $20! We're proud not to be profit-mongers, buy it here and you can take pride in your smart shopping habits. Batteries included.

Another oldie but goodie. 5" high evacuated clear glass bulb mounted in a black stand, 3" in diameter at the top. A four bladed vane is balanced on a needle inside the sphere. Because opposite surfaces of the vanes are black and white, incident radiant energy is absorbed or reflected to a different degree. The result is a spinning vane. The brighter the light, the faster it spins. Simple, but compelling. Brief explanatory instruction sheet included.
