Despite parental advice, here's a good reason to sit in in a dark room and think small. This Plasma Storm isn't as large as a standard plasma ball, so not only is it much more affordable -- the effect is concentrated and startling. The black plastic base has a switch. Turn it on at which point the 3" dia plastic globe (think baseball size) is filled with blue stems that flare to pink, looking like dozens of electric flowers searching for a way out. Very cool. Comes with a 6-ft power cord with transformer.

It's either a telescoping aluminum backscratcher, a fork for people whose elbows don't bend, or a sand rake for miniature Zen gardens. You pick. The 5-draw shaft extends from 6-5/8" to 20-3/8" long, the 5-tine rake is 1-3/16" wide, and it has a pocket clip.

A real desktop mesmerizer. This 7"x 5" moving sand sculpture creates endless sand-dune vistas, and can be so easily flipped to start over that you need never go back to actually working. The sand is so fine it's nearly liquid, and comes in varying shades, plus a little glitter. Black base and frame. We'll pick sand in shades of orange, purple, green or red for you.

It's a little 2-1/2" square base with brushed-aluminum-look sides and a mirrored top, in the middle of which 3 colored LEDs flash on and off in individual and combination patterns. Makes a dandy base to show off crystal and cocktail glasses, but stick a large styrene coffee cup upside down over it and put it in a dark room and you have the world's cheapest multi-color light show. Line up a dozen or so on the front walk and you've got the world's first flashing multicolored luminaria show for party nights. You add (3) "AAA" batteries.

Mystery Boxes of stuff like what you see in the catalog. Maybe we had a little left but not enough to continue the listing. Maybe we only got a few as part of an odd lot. Maybe we just lost some, and just found them in our warehouse. You will get items which originally listed for at least $25.00 total in our catalog (or would have, if we had enough). You pick. The "electro-mechanical" box has things like motors, switches and components that are useful parts but want to be worked into something bigger. The "consumer" box has more ready-to-go type items, and things that don't have as technical a flavor, like bottles, toys, books and giant rubber bands. The fun is in the mystery and surprise. Perfect if you don't know what to give Aunt Maude and Uncle Ned, or if you can't decide how to bring your order up to the minimum. Every couple of months the contents will keep changing, so even if you have gotten a box before, feel free to order again! (Please note: Ordering multiple boxes at the same time will result in duplicate items.)

More fun for the easily amused! A very stylish 3-1/2" x 5-1/4" clear acrylic panel, less that 1/2" thick has two flattened hourglass chambers within it. Both have non-toxic fluids and suspended in one are black grains that are heavier than the liquid. In the other are colored grains that are lighter. Flip the works from one black plastic end to the other and the grains slowly do their things, black down, colored up, over maybe a five minute period. Very soothing. We'll pick your color from neon red, orange, chartreuse and magenta.

This big, thick glass candle-keeper weighs a nearly untippable (2) pounds. Stands 3-3/8" tall x 4-3/16" dia with 1/2” thick walls, and a 2-1/2” deep x 2-3/8” dia interior. Available in (3) different colors. Deep sea-blue, redish-orange and light green with a grit-ified, pebbly exterior finish. Flat, polished ovals on two sides also let it stand at a nearly vertical angle, mimicking a mini-grotto on table top or aquarium bottom. It casts a lovely cerulean glow as light passes through it. The price is lovely, too, since many of them are pre-priced at $16.50.

You'll say golly! every time you use this 28" x 20" x 1/16" cloth that's like a chamois, like a towel, like a sponge. Non-abrasive, holds many, many times its weight in liquid, and this one's not available on TV. Made in Germany, just like the mega-popular ShamGosh!

We don't like to brag, but it's tough not to in a case like this. This is a wonderful pen-shaped laser pointer, 5-1/4" long, flat black or silver with gold pocket clip and head. It throws a red point a loong way (we've thrown it two city blocks at night, and it would've gone farther, but buildings got in the way). And what are we so proud of? We've seen a very similar item-not identical, mind you, but essentially the same-in one of those glossy, toys-for-grown-men catalogs. Their price? $40! We're proud not to be profit-mongers, buy it here and you can take pride in your smart shopping habits. Batteries included. (Please note color change to include silver.)

Like a puppy. Our black and white desktop coffee warmer heats up to 180°, just like the ones you see in SkyMall. Measures 4-1/2" square x 7/8" thick with a 3" dia ceramic element, off/on switch, indicator light, and 5-foot power cord that plugs into any 120vac household outet. Knowledgeable hostesses also know how handy these are for keeping the gravy in a liquid state on the sideboard. UL.
