Sneaky Security
Finally, a way to find out who took your stuff. Drimark's® UV Security Marking System has a pen full of invisible reactive ink and a 2-3/8" long UV LED keychain light. Write on your stapler, MP-3 player, or lunch and a flash from your little light will expose your writing. Equally useful for validating re-admission tickets or leaving secret messages. You get a spare set of button-cell batteries for the light.

No-Wire Window Alarm
No screws, either. This ear-piercing alarm screams at 120dB when an armed window (or door, or garage, or liquor cabinet) is opened. Two-part device measures 2-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 1/2" thick OA. Electronic Plant Monitoring
You can’t trust nature (it’s red in tooth and claw, remember?) but you can monitor its effect on plants with any of these electronic meters. The pH meter has a 7-1/2" long metal probe with a 1-5/8” x 3/4” ballistic meter on top that displays pH from 3 to 10. The moisture meter has a 7-1/2” long probe with a 1-1/2” x 3/4” ballistic meter, and measures 11” long OA, with a watering chart on the back of the package. No batteries: they work via chemical reaction to different metals (either that or it’s magic).

Colorful Bookends
At these very nice steel bookends, in a variety of colors. Very attractive, actually, and quite stylish. Not that the color matters if you put them inside the cover of the book. These measure just over 9-1/4" tall with rounded tops, by 6" wide, with 5" square bottoms faced with non-slide rubber. Our choice of color and our each is a pair. (Duh.)

A Little Lightning
Despite parental advice, here's a good reason to sit in in a dark room and think small. This Plasma Storm isn't as large as a standard plasma ball, so not only is it much more affordable -- the effect is concentrated and startling. The black plastic base has a switch. Turn it on at which point the 3" dia plastic globe (think baseball size) is filled with blue stems that flare to pink, looking like dozens of electric flowers searching for a way out. Very cool. Comes with a 6-ft power cord with transformer.

Ooh! How Bright Your Stairs Are!
Don't curse the darkness, add a little visibility to the stairs or anything else that you need to see in the dark, like low beams or doorframes. Our each is Jobar's 4-pack of smooth, light-green, glow-in-the-dark rubber stair treads with self-adhesive strips around the perimeter. Each tread is 15-3/4" long x 6-3/4" deep x 1/16" thick. The adhesibility isn't all it could be, so you might want to add a touch of glue (and skip the on-carpet application that the picture shows). These also slice up easily for smaller applications.

Moving Sand Art
Black and white sand in a viscous colored fluid. The sand and fluid are between 5-1/2" wide x 3-1/2" high panes of glass, framed on a gimbaled stand. Flip the panel and watch the sand swirl and eddy into endlessly new pictures of dunes, drifts, mountains or moonscapes, depending on your imagination and the pattern they form. The mix of black and white creates a definite third dimension to the images. They come in assorted colored plastic frames (our choice) and are pretty neat, as these things go.
