Sunlight At Night
Our solar-powered flashlight is a mere 4" x 1-1/2" x 3/4" thick, with a solar panel in the side and a built-in carabiner-style hook in the back. Snap it onto your belt, backpack, keys, or any place else that's handy. Has (2) bright white LEDs on the front. Ours has run for over an hour on an indoor charge. Plastic housing in assorted colors.

Godzilla's Glow Stick
A bright, green glow stick for guys with big paws. Who are either at a really good concert, or stalled on a dark road. A full 15" long x 3/4" dia, it has a plastic loop and a festive red hang-cord on one end. They'll see you coming or (if you're stalled) not coming, for up to (12) hours, the packaging says.

Graphic Grill Thermometer
Who can read those little numbers in the hot sun? These 3-1/4" long triangular thermometers clip onto the grill, point down, and the little arrow moves along a 3-stage range, from yellow to reddish-orange to bright red, to indicate low to high heat. Our In-House Grill Maestro says shoot for the high side of the middle range.

Light On A Stick

Pick Your Metal Detector
Metal detectors by Bounty Hunter® to fit your needs! The kid-sized Bounty Hunter Junior is 31-1/2” long overall, but loaded with professional features. It includes a 6-1/2” dia detector coil, ballistic meter, controls for power/sensitivity and target elimination (which helps eliminate iron, for example). Also has an audible proximity sensor that works in tandem with the meter. The manufacturer says it will find coin-sized objects up to 5” deep and larger ones up to 2 feet deep. Or move up to the 2.8 lb Bounty Hunter Tracker IV, with a padded arm support and cushioned hand grip, and an overall length that can be adjusted from 45” to 52”. Its fully automatic Ground-Trac® constantly adjusts to scan through dirt, rock, wood and mud, and the 8” dia open-face search coil is completely submersible. It has three-mode discrimination (all metal, tone and full); a sensitivity control that filters interference; a large ballistic meter; and an internal speaker that works with or without headphones (not included). It will find small objects up to 8” deep and larger ones up to 3 feet deep. Each comes with a well-written instruction manual, and requires a pair of 9V batteries (not included).

Keep Your Powder Dry
Actually, keep your powder and everything else dry with one (or two, or three) of these 7-liter, heavy-duty waterproof PVC bags with electronically welded seams. Each measures 14" tall x 9" wide x 4-1/2", with a buckled cinch-strap at the top. Fill it up, roll the top over a few times and clip the buckles shut. A removable 52" shoulder strap is included.
