This large, olive-drab U.S. Army surplus ammo tube is made of extremely heavy plastic, 21" long x 3-1/2" dia with a twist-off cap. We think it's for carrying either an 81mm mortar round or a combat ferret. Looks like the tallest thermos bottle in the universe and has approx 17" x 3-1/4" of usable internal space and a 10" long rubberized carrying handle. Used, and could have a lot of schmutz on it, so be prepared to hose it down.

39021 BARREL CARRIER |
Could very well be for a gas mask, but that's just a guess, and we know not from whose military. Interesting, though, and rubberized for your protection. It's olive drab, 9-1/2" x 11" x 4", with hook-and-loop belt fasteners. The belt fasteners are oriented so that there's an 8" x 10" snap-flap pocket on the front, a fold-over closure for the bag itself on one short side with a hook-and-loop catch against the body, and a 4" x 6" pocket with hook-and-loop closure on the opposite short side. Good deal if you need to keep stuff dry. Even better after a few hours in the sun and a good spray with a fabric freshener.

39020 MYSTERY BAG |
When you need to keep your powder dry, you'll wish you had this army-green rubberized bag from the Dutch military. Measures 12" tall x 14" wide x 5" deep, with tri-fold top flaps for extra waterproofing and heavy-duty embedded feet on the bottom corners. No carrying straps, but it has plastic buckles on the back and sides to add them. Easy conversion to a messenger bag or a pair of panniers.

40002 RUBBER DUTCH BAG |
Carrying a state secret? Or a knockwurst sandwich? You can hide either in a Deutsche Armee bag in the olive-drab raindrop camouflage pattern--at least during a German rainstorm. This large bag is 11" x 12" x 5" with (3) rubberized straps, a top handle, buckle closures, and set of hooks and loops on the top and bottom so you can stack them or use them as panniers. Heavy canvas. Interesting look.

39335 LARGE GERMAN BAG |
Olive-green plastic box with stainless steel latch and hinges, once the home of a Belgian army gas-detector kit (Gasdetectiedoos, Compleet) now comes with only its minimal dividers (one long, one clip), and possibly a leftover component or two. The sturdy plastic case is 10-3/4" x 6-3/4" x 2-3/4" deep, with a snap-down clasp and (2) 39" long canvas shoulder straps that are adjustable. Nice for a small toolbox or tackle box.

39867 BELGIAN ARMY NBC BOX |
Not a joke. These are serious vintage, U.S. Army infantry haversacks from the Spanish-American War era, made circa 1898. They're a dark khaki, 14" square x 4" thick, with drawstring closures. They have slender internal pockets along both inside edges and (2) 2" wide x 10" deep pockets bracketing a 9" wide x 10" deep pocket on the inside of the flap. The flap itself has a strap and buckle and will still bear its original stenciling, which may be "U.S.," crossed rifles, a cavalry-unit number, a combination thereof, or some other unique identification.

A different kind of canister. This one's from the Israeli army tank corps and once held a nice big piece of ordnance. Measures 23-1/2" long x 6-1/2" square (it has square blocks on a round tube) in black plastic. Internal storage space is approx 13" x 4-5/8" dia and it has a twist-off cap with a fold down handle. Got a fair amount of hose-offable dirt/mud on it, which it no doubt came by honestly.

40892 2-FT ARTILLERY SHELL CANISTER WITH CARRYING HANDLE |
Direct from the U.S. Army, this desert-tan nylon pouch was made to hold a 2-qt non-sloshing bladder canteen. So authentic that it probably will have the original stenciling and user's name on it. Has a plastic latch, belt clips, an adjustable and detachable 42" shoulder strap. The cushy fake-fur lining insulates it in the winter. Wet the lining for a cooling effect in hot weather. Measures 8-1/4" x 7" x 3" with a little 3" x 2-1/4" pocket on the front. (Water purification tablets?) Don't carry water? It'd make a nice, warm traveling gerbil habitat. (There's even a drain hole in the bottom.)
