Search for zlotys on the beach, or just be the first militaria collector on your block with a USSR-era Polish army surplus mine detector. (That's a Polski armia nadwy?ka möj wykrywacz, we think.) Comes complete with (8) feet of pipe (in 2-foot sections) for getting farther from the mines, a 5-foot cord on the headphones, a log-book, a canvas carrying pouch, and a small box wrench. The downside? It's battery operated (and may even come with one or two dead ones) but not by batteries in any size we recognize, so making it operable could be a challenge.

Or you would, if Holmes had ever gone on maneuvers. But you'll certainly look extremely cool. This 1980s vintage, olive-drab, rubberized canvas cape is Dutch, we think. Brand new, it measures 33" long, with buttons down the front and a trench coat-like collar. It's a hip-length, sweeping, armless A-line fashion statement for the woods or for those long, brooding but stylish, walks in the rain.

Impersonate one of Robert Peel's own with this authentic-ish and good-looking British bobby's helmet. Sits approx 7-1/4" tall on yer noggin and measures 12" front-to-back. Has a hard shell and a black velveteen finish, adjustable fit, neck strap and bright top knot and front shield. Don't like coppers? Snap off the brightwork and it's a pith helmet for a funeral.
