Bring In The Sheaves
This cutie from Mabuchi is a 12VDC reversible motor that spins at approx 2400 rpm, draws about 17mA no load, and stalls at 240mA. Measures 1-1/2" long x 1-1/16" dia with a removable sleeve. The 3/32" dia x 5/16" long shaft has a removable 5/16" dia single-sheave pulley. Has 9" leads with a 2-pin Molex connector.

Gear Motor With Disposable Parts
Our motor dude calls this DC reversible gear motor "very interesting." Rated for 3-24VDC with speed ranging from 75 to 654 rpm. The current draw is very low, 2.4mA no load and the highest readable stall current is 90mA. The motor itself is 1-11/16" long x 11/16" dia with a 7/16" long x 3/32" dia shaft with a 9mm (approx 3/8") single sheave, 2mm ID pulley on it. Motor is connected to a monodirectional drive assembly with some mystery circuitry glued to it. Feel free to discard this. Motor is German, gearhead and drive train are Swiss.

Liquid Welder
Power Poxy® is an industrial epoxy adhesive/weld made for filling holes and cracks in radiators and industrial tanks. Works on steel, iron, aluminum, stainless steel and brass, plus concrete and hard plastic, and has Kevlar® fibers embedded in it. Set-up time is 20 minutes. Cure time is 2 hours. Rated for 3300 lbs and can be machined and drilled when cured. Cures to a metallic gray color. You mix it from the 7-oz jars of resin and hardener.

Stainless Steel Zip Ties
Stainless steel zip ties. You want them even before you know why, don't you? So here's why: they're for high-heat applications where plastic would melt. Also they're a bunch more durable, say for plumbing fixes, or the barbecue grill or camper. And they're all shiny and really cool. Extremely Itsy LEDs On A String
You get 35 (which is almost (3) dozen, after all) little bitsy beads of light on a 6-foot long, 2-strand copper wire. As small as incandescent grain-of-wheat lights, these LEDs are powered by (3) "AA" batteries in a 3-1/2" x 2" x 3/4" thick plastic battery pack. A single push-button switch controls off/slow blink/fast blink/steady on, to meet your most festive needs. You pick red, green or white. You also buy the batteries.

Clip Lead Set
Ten electrical leads with an alligator clip on each end. Each lead is about 20" long, not counting the 'gators. Vinyl coated 20-22 ga. wire with a vinyl cover over each clip. They come in an assortment of five colors with two leads in each color. The manufacturer calls them heavy duty but we would restrict them to the light currents and low voltages you will be using in your home experiments. Our each is a set of (10).

Micro-Motor
The Stephen Douglas of motors, our little giant, only 1" long x 15/32" x just over 3/8", spins at approx 45rpm. Size includes the all-metal gearbox (but not the 3/8" long x 1/8" dia flattened shaft). The 6VDC motor with a 298:1ratio draws approx 5mA and stalls at 50mA.

Linear Actuator
New linear actuator from Von Weise®, made for sliding camper sections, has a motor approx 6-1/2" x 3" x 6-1/2" overall. Draws 11A at 12VDC under load, 1.25A no load, and spins approx 150 rpm. Has 4" leads with a 2-pin connection. Output is through a 3/4" dia threaded rod inside a 1-3/8" dia steel pipe. You pick from the the medium version; a 35-1/2" pipe (38" long over all); or the long, a 41" pipe (44" long over all). All have approx 30" stroke.

Build A Better Battery Pack
Our each is (4) of the blue plastic "D" Cell modular battery holders, approx 3-3/8" x 1-7/16" x 1-1/8" deep without tabs. They slide together either side-to-side or end-to-end or any combination of both, with connecting tabs in both directions. Can be wired parallel or in series. Open tops. Interesting possibilities.
