Brake Lights For Your Head
Well, we can’t call them headlights, can we? These wireless motorcycle brake lights (or just safety lights for pedal pushers) are really named Riderlight™. Each has (6) in-line red LEDs on a flexible, self-adhesive rubber bar, 7-5/8 long x 1-1/4” wide, for attaching to the back of a helmet. The lights respond to the brakes via, for Riderlight 1, a small transmitter for 6V or 12V systems, fired by the brake light switch or, for Riderlight 2, a combined replacement 1157 bulb/remote transmitter with (12) LEDs, for 12V systems only. The LEDs operate on (4) included coin cell batteries. Bicyclists can just toss the transmitters and trigger the lights manually in permanent flashing mode. Google Riderlight for additional details.

Electronics. The best thing that ever happened to calipers. Save your eyesight and measure accurate outside and inside dimensions with this digital instrument. Powered by an included button-cell battery, it measures up to 6 inches in .001 increments or 155 millimeters in .01 increments. Hardened stainless steel, 9-1/4" x 3" OA, with a locking vernier, it comes with a nice sturdy storage case and extra battery.

Clip Lead Set
Ten electrical leads with an alligator clip on each end. Each lead is about 20" long, not counting the 'gators. Vinyl coated 20-22 ga. wire with a vinyl cover over each clip. They come in an assortment of five colors with two leads in each color. The manufacturer calls them heavy duty but we would restrict them to the light currents and low voltages you will be using in your home experiments. Our each is a set of (10).

AIRCRAFT CABLE
Stop picturing a fat cable you can use to tie down an airplane. This is great 20–strand twisted cable from the aircraft industry, but at 1/16” dia, it’s sized more for a Chicago Cub than a Piper Cub. The cable is high–quality stainless steel, unjacketed and very strong. Use it to hang extremely heavy mirrors, make repairs, create bendable metal sculptures! Order in 15–foot or 100–foot hanks. Losin' Juice?
Or usin' it up? This nice solar cell is made to prevent battery drain in cars, boats, snowmobiles (or anything else with a 12-volt) during storage or because you're running stuff like cell phones, laptops, or various pods off of said battery. Rated for 12VDC 120mA, it measures 14-3/4" x 6-1/4" x 3/4" OA with an 11-3/4" x 4" cell. The 91" cord leads to a fused and polarity-protected cigarette-lighter plug. Has 14.7 VDC output with no load, an LED indicator, and weatherproof housing. Works in all weather, even low-light and cloudy conditions.

Aluminum, On A Roll
Mega-useful aluminum tape. A 2" wide x 50-yard roll of .004" thick aluminum on a 3" core. Has a paper backing and is conductive on the non-adhesive side. Reflects heat and light, useful for seaming riveted aluminum sheets, particularly good for cold weather and metal repairs. Our fisherman friends love to wrap wooden lures with it and work it with a piece of soft wood for metal-finish effects.

Tiny Vibes
From our smallest mini-motor ever. This miniscule motorette is the (unused) vibrator from a pager, and it comes in at a teensy 1/2" long x 3/16" square, including the 1/8" long cam shaft that makes it vibrate in the first place. Has a little rubber jacket and (2) leads. Speed? Something like 1.5K rpm at the bottom end. Add a vibrating function to the device of your choice, double the rattle in something, or create your very own vibrating robotic cockroach.

Little Giant
Call it the Stephen A. Douglas of gear motors-small, but more than able to go up against the big guys. From Pittman Mfg (part # GM8224), this permanent magnet, reversible, 328 RPM, 24VDC motor runs anywhere from 6-24VDC with exceptional torque throughout the range. No load current draw of 180mA. Stalls at 5.54A. Torque rating of 3.09 oz-in. Overall size is 3-3/8" long x 1-3/8" dia with a 3/16" dia x 11/16" flattened, hardened shaft. Leads are 5" long terminating in a 2-prong plug. Pittman says "self-aligning, sintered bronze bearings and diamond-turned commutators."

Tough Gear Motor
Small but durable. Measures 1-1/2" long (including the terminals) x 1-1/16" dia, with a removable, 1-1/4" dia x 1-1/8" long gearbox and 3/16" x 3/8" long flattened offset shaft. Runs between 6-12 VDC. At 12 VDC, it spins 7 rpm and draws 90mA. Gearbox ratio is approx 400:1. Has (3) 3/32" mounting holes on the shaft face. Reversible.
