Rejoice, we have finally found a source of reasonably priced borosilicate lab glassware. This is the kind of glass in the trade marked Pyrex(tm) and Kimax(tm) labware. The stuff you can put right over the flame of the Bunsen burner, or directly onto the hot plate. This stuff is imported from China, and is considered student grade, which is good enough for anything but the most exotic applications. We have beakers, test tubes, graduated cylinders and flasks. Compare the prices below and you will see that they are around half the U.S. equivalent. Call us for larger quantity prices.

Soil Test Kits
The budding home scientist and horticulturist will both delight in the ease with which this self contained soil test kit brings discovery. The kit measures not only ph., but also Nitrogen, Phosphate and Potash content and contains material for 40 tests. Since these are the essential ingredients affecting plant nutrition, we see a science project in the making: experimental plant growth in soils with different amounts of acidity and/or nutrients. From Luster Leaf(tm), the kit is entirely self contained and includes complete instructions for use and explanations. Be careful, please, the kit does have chemicals and should not be used by young children without supervision.

Suit Your Soil
Grow a beautiful garden full of plants that love your soil! It's easy if you know your soil's pH, and we have a gauge to help you! Stick the probe into moist soil for the pH to register in a separate 4" x 2" x 1" gauge box on the end of a 26 ft. cord. That let's you keep the probe in the garden while reading the gauge at your doorstep! A needle indicates the pH on a scale of 3.5-9, and you get a list of which plants like which pH levels.

Buncha Trays 'N' Lids
These are left over from those scrumptious hot meals that hospitals serve. Use the trays and lids when you're under the weather, or serving someone who is. Mix and match them, but carefully, since the round lids fit some bottoms better than others-and the 8" square x 2-7/8" deep lid don't fit nothin' we've got. On the other hand, we think the trays also make perfect indestructible flower pot saucers, and the lids, which have recessed handles so they can sit on their heads (which is more than you can do), would make nice wide planters themselves. Some of them say they can take heat and some say they can't but we're pretty sure they're talking about hospital ovens because they all do just fine warming up tortillas in the office microwave. Assorted unmatched colors (our choice).

Digital Light Meter
This Velleman DVM 1300 Light Meter displays measurements between 0.1 and 50K lux in (5) different ranges on a liquid crystal display with (4) 1/2" high digits. Filtered 1-1/2" dia sensor on a 13" coiled cord. The 4-5/8" x 2-3/8" x 7/8" case has reflective tape on the back for dealing with a shadow. Comes in a vinyl case with a recommended-illumination chart and a 12-volt battery.

Here’s a fine pair of nylon bristle brushes, just perfect for cleaning test tubes, aquarium filter tubes or your favorite long-necked soda bottle. It's stylish, it's handy, it has a slightly menacing look to it, and-truth be told-it's a lot of fun. Measuring pH
This handheld pH meter from Hanna Instruments measures 0-14 pH to 0.01 resolution, accurate to +/- 0.2. Calibration screw for 7.01, and another for 4.01 or 10.01 pH. The unit is 6-3/4" X 2" X 15/16" OA, with a 4-digit 1-1/8" X 1/2" LCD readout, and a replaceable 4-1/8" long x 9mm dia probe that screws into the case. Comes with a tip cover for the probe and (2) button-cell batteries. Don't forget to order the 20mL foil packs of pH 4.01, 7.01 or 10.01 Buffer Solution, with a chart listing the specific pH of the solution at various temperatures. Good things come in (2) different small packages. Our pocket microscopes are compact and perfect for a clear, close look at stamps, coins, flora, insects or assorted minutiae. The 30X version measures 5-3/4" x 1-5/8" x 3/4" in black plastic with a focus knob, on/off switch, small LED for illumination, and a vinyl carrying case. Requires (2) "AA"s. The 60X version is a microscopic 3-1/4" x 1-3/16" x 3/4" and has a built-in white LED illuminator powered by (3) coin-cell batteries that are included. This hard-plastic black box has brass-plated, spring-loaded hinges that snap it shut or hold it open at a 90° angle. (And that don't snap off themselves after six months, like the plastic hinges do.)
