KLEE-klik it says when you push the back of this little metal toy with the picture of a cricket on it. Sounds something like a real cricket, and just like the brass versions that U.S. paratroopers carried on D-Day for communicating in the hedgerows around Ste. Mare Eglise. Also just like the one Sister Mary Inviolata used to coordinate precision kneeling/standing exercises during our Confirmation practice, which was only slightly more organized than D-Day. You will get (6) cricket clickers for $2.95.

Walking sticks have moved into the space age! This walker's/hiker's friend has futuristic features and the look of an inter-galactic weapon. The high-quality collapsible aluminum stick extends from a packable 27" to a full 56", and has a carbide tip with a rubber cover, a removable 2" dia disk to keep the stick from sinking into soft ground, and an internal shock absorber that can be turned on or off. At the top, a 5-LED flashlight with a 90° pivot is embedded in a molded-plastic cane-style handle to light your way. For mountain trekking, lengthen the stick, slip the adjustable canvas wrist strap over your hand, and clutch the stick by the padded foam section below the cane handle. Directions, diagrams, and 1100mm to 1350mm gradations are marked clearly on the 3-draw pole. We'll pick a black or anodized red, green, blue, silver or purple version for you.

Time was, kids amused themselves with a button in the middle of a string-pull the string's ends apart, watch the button spin. For today's kids, an electronic version which works on the same principle: a 4-1/8" dia plastic disk with pulsing red, blue, green and yellow LEDs and (2) whistling slots to make nice a buzzing, cicada-like noise when the disk spins. Includes (3) replaceable button-cell batteries. Way, way more entertaining!

Or any other letter. Our each is a set of (48) double-headed, A-to-Z alphabet stamps, for a total of (96) stamps to reproduce 3/16" high uppercase letters. You'll get lots of duplicate letters in assorted red, yellow, blue, green and purple. The stamps are self-inking, on both ends of 2-1/4" long plastic capsules, so exercise some caution with curious rug-rats. Ideal for marking craft projects, making kid's stationery, or putting warning messages on your forehead.

Think of it as a shortcut to learning perspective. This clever 50-sheet pad of white, 7" x 4-1/2" paper has a fine red and blue grid pattern that shows your drawing and doodling in 3-D when you wear the included 3-D glasses. It's our candidate for the why-didn't-I-think-of-that award this year.
