Metal Razor Saw
Precision metal saw of the type usually known as a razor saw. It has a 4-1/2" long x 1" deep blade with very fine teeth and reinforcing down the spine. Complete with plastic handle. Excellent for cutting small metal tubes and strips for hobby work.

Sashette Chain
Shiny brass chain of the sash persuasion. Light duty and only 1 ft long, Purchasing says it is for industrial doll houses. Over here in Editorial, we believe less and less of what Purchasing tells us. So we suggest you use it to secure the chuck key to a tool, a roll of electric tape to your belt, or someone from Purchasing to his cubicle. (They are all quite puny.)

Make Molds For Free!
Just leave bread in a damp place. Or buy this stuff and make casts of solid objects, anything from faces and fingers to celery and crucifixes, with quick-setting Instamold. (We'll sell you 10 oz. of the Instamold compound, but you provide the water to mix it with.) Then fill the molds you've made with plaster, wax, or Permastone-yes, we sell Permastone too. It's an extremely strong casting medium with a clean white hue when set, waterproof and scratch resistant. Each can we sell has 1-3/4 lbs. of Permastone, to be mixed with water.

Pop one of these roughly 1-1/4" dia stones into the toe of a sock, smash it with a hammer, and be the first person ever to see your real-as-Nature-makes-it geode!! Ninety percent of them have the familiar beautiful white crystals inside. Formed by volcanic action, they are found all over the world, but ours are from Mexico. There is no way to tell from the outside if they have crystal centers, but we will send you two just to raise your odds, and we haven't had a dud yet in our stores!! The kids need presents for all the grandmas and great-aunts? You volunteer at the nursing home and need token gifts for your L-O-Ls? And your eyes aren't so good, either? Our each is really half a dozen pretty little magnifiers with round lenses and fancy handles. The handles are silver-bright (hard to believe they're aluminum) and all different. Each has a discreet hole in the tip for a jump ring so it could be worn on a necklace -- but it would look just as pretty on a desk. The overall length of the (6) magnifiers varies from about 3-3/4" to 5", the lenses from 1-1/4" to 1-3/4" dia. All are approx 2X magnification. Mary Ann's pick of the month.

A Little Lightning
Despite parental advice, here's a good reason to sit in in a dark room and think small. This Plasma Storm isn't as large as a standard plasma ball, so not only is it much more affordable -- the effect is concentrated and startling. The black plastic base has a switch. Turn it on at which point the 3" dia plastic globe (think baseball size) is filled with blue stems that flare to pink, looking like dozens of electric flowers searching for a way out. Very cool. Comes with a 6-ft power cord with transformer.

A Working Wonder
If we had a category just for customers who lust after Jules Verne inventions and elegant gadgetry, this would be in it. The wonderful brass sundial, a reproduction of an antique, is approx 3" dia x 11/16" thick overall, and actually works! A latitudinal gauge lets you tilt the engraved dial to the correct angle for your location, and a bubble and three leveling feet allow the 1-1/2" dia lock-down compass to point in the precise direction. And if you never took it out into the sunshine, you'd still love it for the look and logic of it.

Our Flask Inventory Boileth Over
So we're pricing these borosilicate boiling flasks to move quickly. We've got (3) sizes, all with slightly flattened bottoms, each with a single, discreet, capacity mark in white. While the actual physical size can vary slightly, the volume remains the same. The 1000ml flask is 9-5/8" tall OA x 5-5/8" dia with a 1-5/16" ID mouth, and a lip. Takes a #7 rubber stopper. The 500ml flask is 6-7/8" tall OA x 4-1/8" dia with a 1-3/16" ID mouth, and a lip. Takes a #6-1/2 rubber stopper, but a #7 will work. The 250ml flask is 6-1/8" tall OA x 3-3/8" dia with a 1-1/32" ID mouth, and a lip. Takes a #5-1/2 rubber stopper, but a #6 will do the job.

Computer Revolt
Tired of being beholden to the computer mega-corporations? Get back to basics with the original computer. This fine wood abacus is approximately 9-3/4" x 4-3/4", with (13) sets of (5) balls and (13) sets of (2). Computing speed is considerably slower than even an old 286, but then it's guaranteed to never need rebooting. Instructions included. Made in China, naturally.
