We bought these from a blind man. No, no, from a blinds man, overstock from a company that manufactures venetian blinds. They’re undrilled (no holes) and modelers/hobbbyists will swoon at these prices. Luckily, we’ve got approximately 32 gazillion of them, all in beautiful, clear basswood, all primed white. They’re 3/8” thick, 2-1/2” wide X 36" long and all perfectly smooth and flat, with slightly rounded edges. At these prices you can afford to glue them up into laminated blocks and carve out any shape you like. It’s the model shop/art studio/wood shop deal of the year. The best book light we've seen for the combination of brightness, position-mobility, and easy storage. Has (3) bright white LEDs and unfolds to a three-part, 7" long light whose clip and light-head both rotate 360°. Best of all, it folds to a nano-ish 4" x 1-5/8" x 3/8" thick. Has on/off and dimmed settings, and will run for a long, long time on the (2) included coin-cell batteries.

We just wish there was something, anything, to do around here that required this thing, on account of it's so cool. Our newest Helping Hand has a pair of alligator clips on swiveling arms, likewise a 2-1/4" dia x 1.5X magnifier plus an LED flashlight on a gooseneck. Everything swivels every way there is and tightens with little thumbscrews-and some of the configurations look like it's maybe alive, and from Venus. Jewelry makers? Diamond cutters? Forensic scientists? Maybe we'll start making small electronics, or tying flies.
