They're 6" x 1-1/4" x 3/4" OA. They lock quite tightly, so the first few times you may have to practice hooking a thumbnail under the lids and pulling back and up to open them.

Need A Little Lap Time?

This little electronic marvel is for timing your speed and counting laps on "S" scale (1:64) race cars. Think Hot Wheels®. Think Pinewood Derby. Made for Radio Shack as ZipZaps Micro RC", it uses infrared LEDs and sensors to measure speed in ft/min or mph, and records individual lap times for up to 6 laps, calculates total time, and stores the fastest lap time and speed. The main unit shows speed and time on 1-1/8" x 5/8" LCD displays, and has a red indicator light to show that the sensors are aligned. (Sensors will work best in a room that isn't over-lit). Measures (1) car at a time, and takes a total of (2) "AA"s, and (2) "AAA"s.

The Groaning Giraffe

Titled "The Field and Forest Handy Book," this volume has been justifiably in print since 1906. Written by Daniel C. "Uncle Dan" Beard, the founder of the Sons of Daniel Boone and one of the founders of the BSA, it's a compendium of eternally relevant woodland lore, from building cabins, sleds, boats, and bridges to camping in swamps. The only part we skipped was on how to cook a muskrat. (We know a place that delivers.) Loaded with illustrations. In soft cover from David Godine's Nonpareil Books, 428 pages.

This clever little artist's brush holder/cleaner will keep those oil or watercolor brushes standing up (or down) straight with their little heads under water or paint thinner, clean and un-bent until you need them. A 4" dia x 2" deep aluminum cup is topped by a 6" tall U-shaped handle with a brush-holding spring across the top. We got a million of 'em. We'll send you a trio, at least (2) of them different, from our collection of 7/8" dia slip rings with acrylic fobs on short chains. The fobs are 1-1/2" to 1-3/4" long heart- or teardrop-shaped acrylic. Preserved inside are either actual butterflies, or artistically arranged ladybug-lookalikes. (We'll make sure there's at least one butterfly in each batch!)

How Twee!
