Your Turkey Is A Tradition...
this one can be a tradition, too. Every year your children can poke reusable turkey parts into a fresh pumpkin to create a decorative gobbler for the table, mantel or front porch. Our parts are a head and (8) tail feathers, 8-1/2" long, cut from 1/8" plywood and painted in brown, white, yellow, orange and red. The bottom 2" are sharply pointed to pierce a pumpkin skin, so an adult should supervise the poking. You think our turkey has a slightly dubious expression? Maybe you shouldn't have stuck his parts into the turkey-of-honor before you carried in the platter. Too much dinnertime vérité.

Moving Sand Art
Black and white sand in a viscous colored fluid. The sand and fluid are between 5-1/2" wide x 3-1/2" high panes of glass, framed on a gimbaled stand. Flip the panel and watch the sand swirl and eddy into endlessly new pictures of dunes, drifts, mountains or moonscapes, depending on your imagination and the pattern they form. The mix of black and white creates a definite third dimension to the images. They come in assorted colored plastic frames (our choice) and are pretty neat, as these things go.

How About a Longneck?
Nice, if odd, plush marionettes. Each is appropriately patterned and good sized. They're about (2) feet nose to tail, and have a goofy, gangly charm, as marionettes so often do, bless their little strings. The odd part is that they have small bodies, long legs and really, really long necks-imagine an entire zoo designed by the giraffe. Cute, though, and right at home in a child's imaginative mind.
