The Cool Blue Light Experiment Kit uses copper sulfate, perborate and luminol to produce light from the energy released in a chemical reaction. The instructions recommend this kit for experimenters nine years old and up, with adult supervision. Some experiments call for the addition of household chemicals like chlorine bleach, hydrogen peroxide or sugar.

Soil Test Kits
The budding home scientist and horticulturist will both delight in the ease with which this self contained soil test kit brings discovery. The kit measures not only ph., but also Nitrogen, Phosphate and Potash content and contains material for 40 tests. Since these are the essential ingredients affecting plant nutrition, we see a science project in the making: experimental plant growth in soils with different amounts of acidity and/or nutrients. The frame edges are 3/4" wide with a double bevel profile. A couple of tabs on the back help hold the picture. That's it folks. Just the basics. You get to paint 'em and adorn 'em to fit your decor. Chinese Rifflers
Riffler files are most prized by sculptors, wood carvers, model makers and similar fashioners of precision objects. They come in a variety of flat, round and triangular shapes. They are usually pointed and always have a delicate curve toward the point which makes them particularly useful for working in tight and curvy spots. We have a set of (10) in an attractive red plastic case. They are 3 x 180 mm size (about 7"), and were made in China for the King Manufacturing Co. Very nice quality at a very nice price. They can cost as much as $4.00-$5.00 apiece in regular outlets.

Clever Idea #763
This idea is for the birds. Literally. A green/black plastic perch, dish, and dispenser that you can screw onto an inverted plastic pop bottle to convert it into a bird feeder. Obviously, the bottle should have been emptied of pop and filled with seed. One of those "100 things to do with old coat hangers" ideas that really works!! Complete with instructions and bail to hang the completed feeder. Please note: this feeder will not attach properly to the new Coca-Cola low-profile bottles.

Diving Submarine

Back in the days when technology was a good guy, kids got diving submarines that they charged with baking powder and played with in the bath tub. Now kids can have the same fun again. We have found a (gray!) submarine, about 3" long, that can dive and surface up to a dozen times with a single charge of the baking powder that you get to supply. Comes with instructions.

A 6" square cleaning cloth woven of 90,000 microfibers per sq. inch, each 0.5 mm dia. Super absorbent, it can be used wet or dry to clean the most delicate lens, CD, or for that matter, your car or kitchen counter. "As seen on TV" except this one really lives up to the hype. Add a little pizazz to your nitro pills! This 1-3/4" x 1/2" dia container for meds is anodized aluminum in mostly silver but also could be in blue, turquoise, purple, red, gold (our choice). It's gasketed so it's watertight. We recommend cleaning the inside with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol before using, since some have a bit of rust-colored residue in them. Flashy!
