Unfortunately this grand assortment of flags from America's past came without explanatory text - or maybe that's fortunate. Might make a challenging research project for a young historian. Cloth flags, about 4" x 6" (sizes vary slightly), on 10-1/2" gold plastic staffs. They even come from a U.S. manufacturer! Not all are U.S. national flags, but as near as we can tell all are part of American history. You'll get a shipment of (5) different flags. Wave on!

Magnifiers with dual lenses and transparent acrylic stands; place them above the objects you wish to scrutinize and the focus takes care of itself. The Lumiloupe 10x magnifier is 1-3/4" high, with a 2" dia. base and a 1-1/2" dia top, so it is best suited for stamps, coins, film, and the like. The Lumiloupe 5x magnifier is 2-1/2" high x 4-1/4" base x 3-1/4" at the top, a fine size for botany, entomology, or cartography.

Polished glass equilateral prisms. Equilateral because each edge of the end is the same length, 32mm. Thus, as all you geometry students know, each of the angles is also the same, 60 degrees. These are school grade and are fine for decorative and demonstration. They do a nice job of diffracting light to produce a nice rainbow-like spectrum, but are definitely not up to instrumentation standards. The missing dimension, length, is shown below.

Each has black lettering stenciled on bright yellow plastic tape, with the message repeated over and over. They are 3" wide by 200 ft or 1000 ft long. All are the real thing, made for sale to police and other serious users. Some have an obvious industrial application, some will work in the school playground, some seem appropriate to cordon off the kids’ rooms.

Cranked-up water heaters mean clean laundry, but risky showers. The 1-1/2" wide x 2" long Scald Guard has a standard 3/4" thread, and screws in between your shower head and water pipe. You decide what "too hot" is, and the adjustable valve reduces the water flow to a trickle when it hits that temperature. Make life safer, especially for the very young and the very old.

It's nice to know that some things don't change. One is the Jacob's Ladder. Still made with (6) slabs of wood, each about 2" x 2" x 1/2", each a bright combination of colors, and all connected by a contrasting ribbon. Hold one end up and let the string of slabs dangle. When you flop the top block end for end, each lower slab in turn will flop end for end. Fascinating. Particularly if you are about 5 to 9 years old.

A teacher's dream! (1000) good-quality crayons for an incredible price. You could pay a lot more money, but they'll just palm off a jumble of colors on you, and leave you standing there, juggling burnt sienna and burnt umber. We, on the other hand, can offer you a box of (250) lovely blue crayons, all the same, no fighting over who got cerulean and who got azure. And a box of (250) red. And (250) yellow. And (250) green. All are nontoxic, and conform to ASTM D4236. You get all (4) boxes, (1) of each color, for $25 - that's .025/crayon. They're also great, of course, for restaurants to hand out with their kiddie menus, if it's not a problem that they're labeled with the name of a chain of steakhouses. After all, it's just one word, and could be a description of some of the colors. And it should warm your heart to know that they paid a lot more for those crayons than you're going to!
