A plastic pistol shaped toy that shoots slugs of raw potato. Push the barrel into a potato, break off the slug, aim and shoot up to fifty feet. Loads of fun, environmentally harmless, and about as safe as any "projectile" toy can be!! Pulls apart for cleaning. For kids ages 5 and up.

Speakers straight from a simple telephone earpiece and right into a homemade robot or a repair job for your old phone. 1-3/16" dia x 13/16" deep, they provide 120 ohm resistance and have a two-wire connection. "DT-20" is inscribed on the back. The back of the silver body is covered with cream-colored molded rubber; surrounding the speaker holes is a slightly sticky ring to help mount it.

Not a news story but a little aluminum shovel of the type hardware store people used to use to scoop nails out of a bin. The cut away cylindrical chamber is about 3-1/2" dia x 6" long. It has a 3" handle on the back and the whole thing is a single casting. Known in the business as a size #1, it should work nicely for ladling seed into the bird feeder, salt onto the driveway, or sand into piles at the beach.

Wrap Around Heating Element
Resistive element insulated and wrapped in soft, flexible (fiberglass) jacket. The wrapped section is about 27 inches long and about 3/16" in diameter. Each end has a 4 inch insulated lead, but one end is a single strand solid wire and the other is a seven strand braid. We haven't any idea where the marriage takes place! Anyway, they're rated at 90 watts. Plug 'em into 110 VAC and the thing heats up to the point that it's quite hot to the touch - too hot to hold onto. Wrap it around whatever it is that you need to keep warm and make your own heating systems. Make yourself a coil and you can probably keep your coffee pot hot. Or operate it at 12 volts as a telescope dew chaser. You'll notice some smoke when you plug it in the first time, but this won't happen once it's burned in. Happy heating by Hot Watt. Lazy Scott Bearings
Never seemed fair to nail the "lazy" tag so permanently on the "Susans" but that probably has no "bearing" on the issue. Also called turntable bearings, they are the square, flat ball bearing devices YOU bolt between two flat objects to achieve rotation. Like that spinning center section of a Chinese restaurant table. We had these in surplus once and they were quite popular. To our chagrin, we discovered they could be bought commercially for the same price. So we did. The 4" version is rated for a 300lb. load, the 6" for 500lbs., and the 12" (round) for 1000lbs.

Pull, Pull, Pull Your Boat
A couple of pulleys just ready to be combined into the block and tackle you need for tiny jobs, like trimming your bonsai trees or hauling your model boat out of the pond. Get blocks with (1) or (2) sheaves and rig up whatever you need. Each block has an aluminum frame about 3–1/2” long with “S” hooks on each end. The sheaves, or wheels are about 2” dia x 1/4” wide, with a “V” groove that looks perfect to handle 1/8” or smaller Venetian blind cord. These dudes are perfect for demonstrating mechanical advantage in the physics lab!! But not for heavy lifting.

Mystery Boxes of stuff like what you see in the catalog. Maybe we had a little left but not enough to continue the listing. Maybe we only got a few as part of an odd lot. Maybe we just lost some, and just found them in our warehouse. You will get items which originally listed for at least $25.00 total in our catalog (or would have, if we had enough). You pick. The "electro-mechanical" box has things like motors, switches and components that are useful parts but want to be worked into something bigger. The "consumer" box has more ready-to-go type items, and things that don't have as technical a flavor, like bottles, toys, books and giant rubber bands. The fun is in the mystery and surprise. Perfect if you don't know what to give Aunt Maude and Uncle Ned, or if you can't decide how to bring your order up to the minimum. Every couple of months the contents will keep changing, so even if you have gotten a box before, feel free to order again! Hemostatic Heaven
Hemostats are the clamplike devices dangling from veins and arteries in melodramatic operating scenes. Our particular collection are Pakistani surgical-grade instruments made of magnetic stainless steel. As such we rate them pretty good, but not fantastic. Hemostats look like little pliers. The jaws are relatively fine, with rounded tips. The inside faces are lightly serrated to get a grip on tubing or body plumbing. And the handles are much longer than the jaws. Ratchets between the handles click together to lock the hemostat in a closed position. To release the clamps, push the handles apart at 90 degrees to the plane of the jaws. Now the heavenly part. Great hobby clamps that can be worked into small areas. Fine heat sinks for electronics. Good hook extractors for trout fisherpeople. Excellent tubing clamps for flow-sensitive chemistry experiments. Sizes are approximate length.

Suit Your Soil
Grow a beautiful garden full of plants that love your soil! It's easy if you know your soil's pH, and we have a gauge to help you! Stick the probe into moist soil for the pH to register in a separate 4" x 2" x 1" gauge box on the end of a 26 ft. cord. That let's you keep the probe in the garden while reading the gauge at your doorstep! A needle indicates the pH on a scale of 3.5-9, and you get a list of which plants like which pH levels.
