Okay, we know you need 200 feet of yellow guideline twine on a handy spindle to mark lot lines and excavations and archeological digs and other very serious locations - but we hope you're smart enough to save at least one of these for a windy day and go kiting.

Puff the Magic AirZooka
Mega-cool toy air cannon. Birthdays will never be the same! The instructions on the AirZooka" say it blasts a gust (ball?) of air up to 20 feet but we blew out a candle at 30 feet, and it only took us three tries. (And you can hear the near-misses as they blow past--which is the mega-cool part.) Plastic, 11" dia x 10 1/2" deep, like a bucket with a pistol grip and a fold-down sight. The (3) segments unscrew and collapse for storage between birthdays. We'll pick fluorescent blue, green, magenta or orange, and you'll need two if you want to have air wars.

So the concept was developed by NASA for the space program. You can use it to beef up the safety lighting on your bike. Or re-enact the Electric Horseman, or maybe just really dress up a jogging hat. It's a 30" long x 1/4" wide electroluminescent peel-and-stick strip like the government uses on airplanes. (Hey, that's what it says on the box.) It glows a light blue--in steady or flashing modes--when powered by (2) "AAA" batteries, which are not included because we can't do everything. The control box and battery case, 2" x 1-1/2" x 1" thick, is in the middle of the strip with mounting hardware for your bike. Or saddle.

Duck-billed Locking Pliers
Welders and other people with marketable skills know that these are sheet metal clamps, but the rest of us treasure the sundry other wonders they perform. (Wasn't that poetically put?) The handles lock, and the 3" wide jaws are just ducky at straightening out bent stuff, taking cookie sheets out of hot ovens, clamping oddly-shaped things with even pressure while the glue dries, snapping tile or glass after scoring it, and thumbscrew tightening. Made for Michigan Industrial Tools of drop-forged chromed steel, 8" long.

This heat-dispersing device that used to live in a computer has a removable 12VDC 450mA Nidec muffin fan-2-3/4 square x 9/16" with power and tach leads and four mounting screws at the corners. This is attached to a 3-1/4" x 2-3/4" x 1-5/8" aluminum box and grill, open on three sides, and a copper heat sink that's 3-1/4" x 2-3/4" x approx 1/4" thick. The whole shebang is held in a plastic bracket with a swing-out handle, ready to disperse some heat.

All together now, boys and girls, can you say BARGAIN? A bonanza assortment of (100) 1/8" shank rotary tool attachments: wheels, brushes, stones, sanding wheels, buffing pads, and sundry other stuff. You could make one from this…like you could make a bunch of cool light-up stuff. It's a takeout array of (4) white LEDs from a GameBoy" accessory. The LEDs are mounted on a gray-plastic case (4" x 5/8" x 1/2") with the words "Solar Pak" and little rubber end doodads in lavender. Has bell-wire leads attached and draws 85mA at 4.5VDC.

This version is small, measuring 1-1/8" dia x 3/8" thick, with a flattened shaft. The shaft rotates approx 20 degrees ccw. Draws 250mA at 24VDC (fires at 18 VDC). Two mounting bolts, 5/16" long x 1/16" - 48, are alongside the shaft, and it has (2) 5" leads and a 2-pin Molex connector.
