Big Basswood Bargain!
We bought these from a blind man. No, no, from a blinds man, overstock from a company that manufactures venetian blinds. They’re undrilled (no holes) and modelers/hobbbyists will swoon at these prices. Luckily, we’ve got approximately 32 gazillion of them, all in beautiful, clear basswood, all primed white. They’re 3/8” thick, 2-1/2” wide X 36" long and all perfectly smooth and flat, with slightly rounded edges. At these prices you can afford to glue them up into laminated blocks and carve out any shape you like. It’s the model shop/art studio/wood shop deal of the year. Raffish Raffia
For wrapping 'round stuff, or any other raffia-related requirement you might have. You can pick 1000-yd (lg) or 100-yard (sm) spools of colored paper raffia in nicely muted colors, not a garish tone in the bunch. All started as 1-1/4" wide strips, and are now approx 3/16" wide. Try the assortment of (5) different colors and save!

(Locking) Syringes
Or sort-of-locking. Push the plunger down and they lock in place, but push the 1/8" nipple down on a hard surface and they'll unlock for re-use. Handy in the shop or craft room for oil, grease, paints, and glues. (Also quite useful for getting liquid medication into the dog.) They measure 3-1/2" long x 9/16" dia and hold 5ml, are graduated in .2ml increments, and have threaded tops. Note the throwaway price.

Wooden Mini-Crates
With faux-vintage signs pasted on the end panels. Think miniature versions of old wooden orange crates, finished with a dark stain. They're all 5-1/2" x 4-3/4" x 3" tall, in sets of (4), each set with (4) different designs. The Route 66 versions bear classic ads for the highway; the restaurant crates will have "Spike's Tavern," "Crawdad Hole," or similar labels; and the saloon crates carry old tavern signs ("Pay Toilet - 10 cents," or something similar). Good for gifties, party favors, centerpieces, like that.

Cut Right To It
This all-purpose scissors is the favorite of everyone at A.S.&S.: Pat uses his to cut and strip wire. C.J. uses his to slit the tape on packages. Mary Ann uses hers to open bags of pretzels. It's 6-1/4" long overall, with a very sharp 2" stainless steel blade and large, comfortable handles. It would sell for $9.95 retail if it was new, but it was used for one day to cut cloth in the assembly plant of a major car company, then discarded. Quality control is a wonderful thing.

Felt Craft Kits

Helping Hands... and Eyes
We just wish there was something, anything, to do around here that required this thing, on account of it's so cool. Our newest Helping Hand has a pair of alligator clips on swiveling arms, likewise a 2-1/4" dia x 1.5X magnifier plus an LED flashlight on a gooseneck. Everything swivels every way there is and tightens with little thumbscrews-and some of the configurations look like it's maybe alive, and from Venus. Jewelry makers? Diamond cutters? Forensic scientists? Maybe we'll start making small electronics, or tying flies.
