Mashers and Smashers
Porcelain mortars and pestles. Great heavy duty mortars, with sides that are easily 5/16" thick on the smaller ones, and up to 1/2" on the larger. The mortars are glazed outside, but rough inside, the better to grind, and have a pouring lip. The business ends of the pestles are unglazed, while the shafts are glazed. Very functional, very good looking!! So grind your own spices or lab concoctions as you prefer. You get a mortar and pestle as a single order.

Convertible Stethoscope
What a price for a Sprague Rappaport stethoscope! And the improved model, at that! The 30" long stethoscope can be easily configured for (5) different functions, replacing other styles. It comes with (1) large and (1) small diaphragm, (3) different sizes of bell-type chestpieces, (3) sizes of eartips, and instructions for use. The interchangeable parts are in a compact, clear-plastic carrying case that fits into a pocket. Tubing will be assorted neon colors (our choice).

Socko X-Ray Sets
…of one human or an assortment of beasties, but we took both home and so will you. These x-rays from Roylco® are very useful for biology teachers, but have endless applications. Make a very easy oversized jigsaw puzzle with the human pix or, with some super glue, a great shower curtain. But the real possibilities are for artists and designers-fold 'em into lampshades, blow them up and shrink them on a copier, or scan them and have fun in Photoshop™. The human skeletal system, a complete skeleton when assembled, is in (18) sheets. The non-human set of (13) includes a marmoset, frontosa cichlid, green tree python, veiled chameleon, dwarf crocodile eggs, baby kangaroo, red-tailed hawk (oddly flamingo-like), sunfish, baby iguana, rattlesnake, box turtle, leaf frog, and a European rabbit which we think is particularly interesting. Actual x-rays are reprinted on transparencies which work with overhead projectors, and range from 3-3/8" x 6-7/8" to 8-3/8" x 10-5/8". They come with info sheets in English and French.

Blood of Frog
No eye of newt (we've had a run on frog's blood and newt's eyes lately) but pretty much everything else you could want in prepared slides. The Bacteria series has (12) prepared bacteria slides for budding science majors to gaze upon microscopically. The bacteria include Streptococcus Pyogene, Bacillus Natto, Bacillus Subtilis, Escherichia Coli, Rhizobium Radicicola, Bacillus Mensentericus, Micrococcus Pyogenes, Mycrobacterium Ranae, bacteria in Buccal Carity, Bacterium Brasicae Fermentatae, and Vibrio Verolinensis. The Micro Org series is a package of (12) prepared microorganism slides including Hydrodictyon, Oscillatoria, Pinnularia, Euglena, Cymbella, Bacillus Natto, Clorella, Diatomaceous Earth, Cosmarium, Spirogyra in its vegetative state, Synedra, and Anabaena. All slides are labeled and in storage boxes.

Rubber Gloves
Brunswick Corp's chemical protective gloves (CB Protection) are all size Small ,14-1/2" long from the tip of the middle finger to the cuff, and come with cotton undergloves. They meet military specs and are numbered MIL-G-43976B, DLA100-88-C-4009, 8415-01-033-3518. They come with full directions for use and decontamination. The powder in the sealed package with each pair is just talc. Don't panic!
