One sheet of (4) punch-outs doesn't an exciting mobile make -- but balancing (16) of these cloud-shaped cardboard pieces, which is what you get, is another story. Each 2-sided piece approx 4" x 4" is covered with funky sketches of winged animals -- polar bears, moose, seals and rabbits. Mostly medium blue and white. No wire or string included. Lots of potential included.

One of our favorite games at A.S.&S. is "Guess Why This Is Surplus." In this case you get (4) different animal erasers, each a 4-part puzzle. The assorted 2" animals are bright colors, erase well, and fit together snugly. Our best guess? Maybe their oversized faces looked too goofy. Maybe animal activists protested rubbing their noses in everyone else's mistakes. Or maybe they just manufactured a gazillion too many. Sometimes it's hard to tell.

It could have been called an Alabama Buzzer after Alabama Vest, the man who invented it. Or a Clegghorn, after Thaddeus Von Clegg, the clock master who fabricated the first one. But the hand-crafted 4-3/4" long steel instrument was a simple amusement, and the 1840s were a simple time. So it's simply a kazoo.

Or singing suppositories. The pair is very magnetic, whatever they are. The 1-3/4" long oblate spheroids look like highly polished black hematites. Hold them an inch apart in your palm, toss 'em into the air and listen to them make a sound like the cyber-crickets. Or an electrocuted chicken. The manufacturer suggests keeping these mega-magnets away from computers, pacemakers, TV sets and credit cards.
