Play The Piston Flute
Or the Swanee whistle. Whatever you call it, this little slide whistle (just consider it the smallest trombone in the universe) has an outsized musical history. No elevator has ever fallen in a cartoon without its accompaniment, and no jug band is complete without one, but Louis Armstrong also played one on his Hot Five recordings, and Ravel even required one in an opera score. In assorted plastic colors with a steel slide, 6-7/8" long x 1/2" dia.

Child Silencer

Or an effective child-silencing puzzle, anyway. This clever thingy is a 10-1/4" long x 3-1/2" dia clear plastic tube full of plastic sprinkles (Jimmies, for those of you on the East Coast) with (47) slightly larger trinkets (a bell, pearl, baseball, penny, etc.) lost among them. The silent child sits in the back seat and turns the tube around and around while trying to find them and checking them off the enclosed list (you'll get a 50-sheet pad of them) and the next thing you know you're there yet. And yes, the octagonal ends are securely glued on so they can't open it and dump the sprinkles all over, the diabolical little rugrats. Also strangely compelling for fully grown adults. At least around here. Made in the USA.

A Plethora Of Pocket Models

They're full-color, punch-out models that start out looking like credit cards and end up standing up by themselves. The appeal? They're small, entertaining, dirt cheap, and there are a whole lot of them. Kidlets age 6 and up will be tied up for hours assembling and playing with these packs of (9) different tropical fish, all approx 2" long, or the slightly smaller (approx 1-1/2" when assembled).

SPY SCOPE
This very deceptive little pocket-sized 8X spy telescope has a pocket clip and measures just under 6" long x 5/8" dia. Nobody will ever know you're an undercover agent unless they see the white "SPY SCOPE" lettering on the side, but you can cover it up with your special spy's electrical tape. You can also pull the barrel out and use it as a 20X microscope if you choose to accept this assignment.

This extremely cute, snap-together Creative Hands® play set features a nattily-hatted, 3-1/2" tall pressed-foam farmer, his soft red barn, flexible white picket foam fence and his cooshy livestock collection, with a 1" chicken, 1-3/8" pink pig, 2-1/2" cow, and 3" horse. The barn stands over 9" tall, with foam hay sticking out of the loft. The textured, pressed-foam pieces require very minimal assembly skills, so it's just the ticket for the littler kiddles. Moo.

Interesting wire contraption that we played with as a child. A series of (4) tiers of overlapping and intertwined brass wire semicircular hoops are anchored at the open end to a pair of full circles. The whole can be shaped into a tube, double balls, a flower petal, etc, depending upon what areas are opened, which closed. A variety of colored beads on the hoops add a decorative touch. Fun, intriguing and decorative all at the same time.
