You could make one from this…like you could make a bunch of cool light-up stuff. It's a takeout array of (4) white LEDs from a GameBoy" accessory. The LEDs are mounted on a gray-plastic case (4" x 5/8" x 1/2") with the words "Solar Pak" and little rubber end doodads in lavender. Has bell-wire leads attached and draws 85mA at 4.5VDC.

Enough balls to make a beauty of a bearing! The 5/16" dia steel balls arrived in a case pack marked Grade 500. We don't know what it means, either, but we're very impressed with their potential! Bonus! Some may even have some light rusting.

Handy for light-duty applications, say 5 lbs or less, this black steel tripod has a span of 22" between the low legs and stands 54" tall at the top of the 5/8" dia mast. Great for hanging holiday decorations (it was originally intended to support a plastic skeleton) it can also support signs, notices, etc. Comes apart into 2 plastic bushings and (6) pieces, each less than 18" long, for storage.

And we did it ourselves with this little mat cutter and self-healing cutting mat. The dual-blade mat cutter has a comfy rubber handle and a removable bevel for clean 45° cuts. The blade adjusts to 9/16" deep and is 4-1/2" long OA, and replacement blades are standard stock in art supply stores. The hard rubber cutting mat is self-healing and no, we don't know how it does that. It's 11-3/4" x 8-3/4" x 1/8" thick, marked with 1/8" and 5mm increments and 1/2" squares, and lines for 45° and 60° cuts.

We bought these from a blind man. No, no, from a blinds man, overstock from a company that manufactures venetian blinds. They’re undrilled (no holes) and modelers/hobbbyists will swoon at these prices. Luckily, we’ve got approximately 32 gazillion of them, all in beautiful, clear basswood, all primed white. They’re 3/8” thick, 2-1/2” wide X 36" long and all perfectly smooth and flat, with slightly rounded edges. At these prices you can afford to glue them up into laminated blocks and carve out any shape you like. It’s the model shop/art studio/wood shop deal of the year. Singer, songwriter, enchanting actress in "Good Will Hunting," "Owning Mahowny," and…what? Oh. Sorry. Not that Minnie Driver. This one is a really nice driver set, with a 4" long handle and a clutch that holds an extendable 4" steel shaft with a magnetic bit holder on the end. Includes (20) small steel bits, including flatheads 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 and 4mm wide; #000, #00, #0, and #1 Phillips bits; a second set of Phillips bits at #0 and #1; and T5, T6, T7, T8, T9, T10, T15 and T20 torx bits, all 1" long with 1/8" hex shafts. Driver also comes with a nice storage case…but sadly, it didn't appear opposite David Duchovny in "Return to Me."

Like a puppy. Our black and white desktop coffee warmer heats up to 180°, just like the ones you see in SkyMall. Measures 4-1/2" square x 7/8" thick with a 3" dia ceramic element, off/on switch, indicator light, and 5-foot power cord that plugs into any 120vac household outet. Knowledgeable hostesses also know how handy these are for keeping the gravy in a liquid state on the sideboard. UL.

Even Grumpy would be happy if he had this very cool, stub-handled claw hammer to work with. It packs the punch of a 10-oz hammer, but is only 6" long overall, so it fits nicely in a sleepy cottage in the forest - or a studio apartment, emergency toolbox, or kitchen drawer. It's ideal for crafts, picture hanging and other dopey little jobs, but we wouldn't be bashful about using it for any hammer-type task. Drop-forged steel head a little (4-1/2" head to claw), but they gave it a heavy-duty frame, a contoured rubber grip, and a small magnet in the head for starting brads and nails. And we gave it a price that's nothing to sneezy at.

For running white glove tests. These are closer to a cream color, and are unused UK military surplus liner gloves for N-B-C suits, but they're nicely made, and would be quite useful as emergency opera-wear if you're in white tie but left your gloves in the Bentley. The man's Small are labeled 6 to 6-1/2, and are 8-1/2" long from fingertip to end of glove. The men's Lg are labeled 8 to 8-1/2, and will be either 9-1/2" or 13" long (our choice) from fingertip to end of glove. These are also very nice painters/craft gloves for folks allergic to latex. Package of (3) pairs.
